The seventh episode of the second season of "Twisted Metal" kicks off with the contestants gearing up for the tournament's commencement. Axel approaches John, noticing a palpable sense of guilt weighing heavily on him. John casually confesses, with a hint of remorse, that his conscience is troubled by the lie he told to Quiet.
This confession is hardly soothed by Quiet's bold pronouncement that their wish is to tear down the very walls that bind them. The revelation startles the others, especially considering that most of their wishes have veered towards the surreal or the fantastical – one competitor's wish being quite literally sky-high.
Just as tensions are rising, Calypso strides in to herald the tournament's start. The initial round tasks twelve cars with navigating a labyrinth where only eight exit passes await. To secure their passage, they must seize these passes swiftly, as failure means elimination in the most literal sense. Recognizing that Quiet and John Doe finished last in the qualifiers, Calypso grants them a one-minute head start, along with a tiny sensor to pinpoint the passes' locations. Raven seethes with discontent but is powerless to intervene.
However, this early advantage proves fleeting as John's distraction leads him down a wrong path. Soon, he relinquishes the wheel to Quiet, erasing their head start in the blink of an eye. The other competitors converge on the warehouse simultaneously, narrowing the gap.
The stage is set for a high-stakes confrontation among our protagonists. Mayhem snatches a pass from Chuckie amidst the warehouse chaos and even manages to acquire a sleek new vehicle for herself. Elsewhere, the remaining contestants grapple for the remaining passes on a treacherous ice hockey rink, their balance and wits tested to the limit.
Regrettably, John and Quiet miss out on securing the pass at this crucial juncture, and with numerous other passes already claimed, they find themselves in a race against time to locate the last remaining one. The stakes are high, pitting them against Preacher and his henchmen. However, in a twist of fate, the cultists' attempt to employ the Boomerang Blast backfires spectacularly, their own vehicle bearing the brunt of the rocket's return trajectory and suffering catastrophic damage. Miraculously, Preacher escapes unscathed, his survival a testament to the invincible plot armor that shrouds him. Ultimately, Quiet and John Doe overpower him, bundle him into their vehicle, and race across the finish line in a triumphant dash.
As John and Quiet emerge victorious, Calypso spirits away baby Preacher, leaving them to celebrate their hard-won success. Meanwhile, Mayhem and Quiet mend their fractured relationship, forging a new path forward.
Yet, that very night, the mood takes a dark turn when John confesses to Quiet that he has made a wish of his own. Her eyes widen in shock, her expression crumbling as the reality of his revelation dawns upon her.
