In the beginning of Episode 2 of "Unchosen," Rosie awakens to a nightmare where she is discovered by the church and punished for aiding an unchosen man, Sam. As Sam is not a part of their community, he is considered "unchosen" by the church's standards.

Rosie is summoned to assist with Hannah's delivery. Her mother, the midwife, asks her to prepare breakfast for the children. She instructs Anthony, Issac's son, to deliver Issac's breakfast, but he refuses and questions her about breaking the rules.
Panicked, Rosie rushes to Issac's confinement room to hand him his food. Issac begs Rosie for help and asks her to call a number for his friend, Charley.
At their house, Adam is preparing breakfast for Grace when Mr. Phillips arrives. Adam asks Grace to go to the sheds to fetch some eggs. There, Sam speaks with Grace and gives her a doll made from hay.
Meanwhile, Mr. Phillips informs Adam that the other elder from the church, Mr. Crane, is moving to Canada. He asks Adam to take up the role of church elder, leaving him shocked. Mr. Phillips praises Adam for saving his brother's life by turning him in.
Adam brings Grace to Issac and Hannah's house. Rosie greets them but hands the phone number to Adam when Grace mentions Sam. She asks who Charley is, and Adam reveals that she is an unchosen woman.
Adam tells Rosie that he needs to prove himself to God and asks for her support in whatever is about to happen. Mr. Phillips and the other men from the church arrive and begin a cleansing ritual on Issac.
Adam leads the procedure and forces Issac to drink alcohol as a way to cleanse his thoughts. He asks Issac to repent, but Issac claims that finding love outside his marriage does not make him perverse.
The episode unfolds with tension and emotional turmoil as characters grapple with their beliefs, relationships, and the consequences of their actions within the rigid framework of their community.
The men's chanting intensified, urging Issac to repent, causing Rosie to feel uneasy. She scurried to the shed in search of Sam, only to find it barren. In parallel, Sam entered Adam and Rosie's abode and discovered a fresh set of clothes.
Elsewhere, the elders led Anthony into a room where the young boy spat at his father, calling him the devil. In another chamber, Hannah delivered a baby boy as Rosie learned that Adam would be elevated to elder status. Issac's aggression escalated as the men forced him back into confinement.
Hannah was displeased with Rosie and Adam's rapid advancement in the church, considering they had only one child. Rosie confided in her mother about Issac, questioning if God truly desired all this. Mrs. Phillips urged Rosie to trust in God and the men guiding them. When Rosie asked if she ever thought about her son, Mrs. Phillips claimed otherwise. At the church, Mr. Phillips sipped his drink while gazing at an old photo of himself and his son.
The next day, Rosie fetched Grace from school and noticed Mrs. Phillips placing a letter in the post box. Later, she received a call from Mason, seeking to speak with Sam. Rosie asked him to halt the calls, but Mason revealed that the police were searching for Sam.
Later that day, Rosie apologized to Issac for giving Adam his note and allowed him to see baby Noah, defying the church's orders. Issac requested Rosie's help in escaping that evening. Prior to their meeting, Rosie and Adam hosted a dinner for Mr. and Mrs. Phillips. The men discussed administering a drug to calm Issac down.
Determined to aid Issac, Rosie snuck the keys to Adam's truck. Mr. Phillips found Rosie alone and made an inappropriate advance, which Adam observed but ignored. Rosie pushed him away as they headed to the church. She made an excuse and left to assist Issac.
Issac was ill and unable to drive. He asked Rosie to take him to Charley's house, and despite her hesitation, she agreed and drove him out of the community. Issac promised to return for his children. To Rosie's surprise, Sam emerged from the back of the truck where he had been hiding.
He instructed Rosie to get out of the car, but when police vehicles appeared, he told her to flee. Rosie refused and asked Sam to drive her back so she could save Grace too. Sam agreed and drove her back into the community. Meanwhile, the evening service concluded with Adam learning of Rosie's disappearance.
Elsewhere, Issac arrived at Charley's house and reunited with his lover. Outside her house, Sam shared his past with Rosie, revealing that Mason was his younger brother. He recounted escaping prison at sixteen and asked about repentance and forgiveness.
Episode 2 ended with Adam discovering Rosie and Sam in the car as she prevented Sam from fleeing.
