Jackson, meanwhile, counseled Ellis to keep his arrival low-key, yet Ellis' enthusiasm got the better of him, throwing an impromptu welcome bash at the office that left Jackson feeling uneasy. Amidst the commotion, Jackson gathers the courage to ask Ruby out, and to his delight, she says yes.

Anna, concerned, confronts Ellis about inviting reporter Allison Davis into their midst amidst his fragile mental state. Despite Anna's protestations, Ellis insists it's a strategic move to turn the tide on recent negative press. Ignoring Anna's misgivings, he proceeds with the plan.

Anna, determined to make a good impression, sets about preparing for the reporter's visit, scrubbing away Ellis' eccentricities and coaching Jackson to present the lab researchers in a polished light.

As the interview commences, Allison Davis wastes no time delving into the raw nerve of Ellis' grief-stricken psyche, probing into his mental health struggles following his wife's passing. Initially, Ellis fields her questions with composure, but gradually, his responses grow eccentric, revealing a bizarre fascination with his hawk, leaving the reporter and those present to ponder the depths of his psychological landscape.

Anna leads the inquisitive reporter to the lab's heart, introducing them to the eccentric duo of researchers, Ruby and Luna. With a flourish of bravado, Luna boldly declares to the journalist that they have conquered the very fabric of the universe—gravity itself. Meanwhile, Jackson confides in Ellis about his upcoming rendezvous with Ruby, and Ellis wisely counsels him to adopt an air of indifference, ensuring a more enjoyable evening. However, Jackson's attempt at nonchalance backfires, as he inadvertently dismisses Ruby's enthusiasm for her feline friend, souring their date.

The next day, Ellis relays to Anna that Jackson has rejected his guidance. Anna, ever the mentor, urges him to redirect his efforts towards helping Jackson unlock his full potential.

In a desperate bid to salvage the gravity fiasco, Luna's antics escalate, claiming they possess secret codes, paranoid that Elon Musk lurks in the shadows, spying on their every move. Anna steps in, diplomatically revealing to the reporter that Luna's creative endeavors may be overshadowed by personal struggles, hinting at a decline in her mental well-being.

Jackson, remorseful for his insensitivity, seeks Ruby's forgiveness. He bares his soul, confessing his nerves and the misguided advice from his father. With a heartfelt apology and a thoughtful gift for her cat, he manages to charm Ruby and earn her forgiveness, restoring their connection.

Later, the reporter's curiosity piqued by Ellis's cryptic voice, he trails the sound, only to stumble upon a bizarre sight. Anna, attempting to shield Ellis, whose head is encased in a jar, employs an invisibility cloak—but to comical effect, as she inadvertently dons it backwards. The reporter, quick to seize the moment, captures Ellis in an otherworldly pose, immortalizing the scene in a magazine article that only adds to the labyrinth of misunderstandings.
