Episode 9 of Virgin River season 7 begins with Mel and Jack arriving in Mexico for their honeymoon. Mel is surprised to discover that Jack speaks Spanish. They receive a call from Brie informing them that their dishwasher has a leak. Back in Mexico, Mel and Jack plan what to do the next day. Jack insists on discovering new places and going on adventures, while Mel promises to surprise him and plans a trip to the ruins. They end up getting lost and spending the day with a loving couple.
Elena and Matteo also had a hard time expanding their family, and they encourage Mel and Jack not to lose hope. Back in Virgin River, Vernon learns from Shirley that Oliver has opened a mobile clinic in town. A few people are already switching their medical care, including Shirley. Upon hearing this, Vernon calls Hope, and they confront Oliver together.

He urges Vernon to halt their antagonism and challenges him to collaborate on a worthy proposal.
The next morning, Matteo and Ellen guide Mel and Jack to a secret cenote. Back at home, Brie goes horseback riding with Clay, realizing she trusts Brady. She finds him at his new motorcycle shop, and they end up making love. Lizzie prepares two small cakes to celebrate Denny's successful test completion. They are finally in a better place, as are Kaia and Preacher. She encourages him to pursue his dream and open a fancy restaurant if that's what he desires.
The episode concludes with Mel and Jack receiving a call from Marley as they wrap up their vacation.
