In Episode 10 of Virgin River season 7, Mel and Jack meet with Eamon and Marley, who have decided to give up their baby for adoption. They plan to move to Sacramento after the baby's birth and ask Mel and Jack to keep their distance for a while once they adopt the baby. Meanwhile, Brie and Brady wake up after a steamy night together and agree to treat their relationship and each other with more care. However, they are interrupted by Mel and Jack who share the good news about the adoption. Mel promises to help them with the legal process.

Tommy and Hope continue preparing for the Founder's Day event at Roland's place, where Vernon warns Roland to keep his distance from Hope. They nearly come to blows, but Hope stops them.
At the Founder's Day Event, Jack and Preacher reminisce about their partnership from the beginning, and it seems that Preacher is rethinking his decision. Jack gives him the buyout agreement to go through and promises to support Preacher's next endeavor. Mike and Victoria get along well, and Lizzie and Denny enjoy the day out. Lizzie even lets Hope watch Fumiko for a while. Later, Hope uses the play to convince people to join the fight against big corporations coming to Virgin River.
On the other hand, Brady and Brie go public and enjoy themselves. Unfortunately, Marley starts experiencing complications, and Mel, Vernon, and Jack rush her to the clinic.
Mel conducts a quick examination and realizes that Marley is suffering from polyhydramnios, a sign that something is amiss with the baby. They reach out to Oliver for help, and he generously allows them to use his mobile clinic. They soon discover that the baby has super inferior ventricles, a rare congenital defect. Mel assures Marley that she and Jack will be there for her, no matter what. However, Marley begins to worry about the pressure this might cause for her friends. They reassure her that they still want the baby and will fight for him together.
Later that night, Mel and Jack inform Marley and Eamon of their new birth plan. They have already contacted the best hospital in the country, located in Los Angeles, but they need to get there by the following day. Mel suggests inducing Marley at Cedar's hospital since she still has privileges there. After the birth, they will transfer the baby to the other hospital for emergency surgery.
After Oliver helps Marley, Vernon reconsiders his decision to work with him. They discuss the possibility of a partnership to ensure that Virgin River has modern medical resources. However, Hope loses it when Vernon tells her. She accuses him of betraying her and taking all her hard work to restore his reputation for nothing. She storms off after asking him to sleep at the clinic.
She heads to Roland's place and gives him her father's ashes. Roland clears up the misunderstanding about her father, explaining that he was only looking out for her when the company was going bankrupt and didn't want her to inherit a sinking ship. Realizing that her dad was only looking out for her, she and Roland dispose of his ashes at the riverbank.
Marley safely delivers the baby at Cedars with Jack, Eamon, and Mel by her side. After the birth, Mel and Jack accompany the baby to the Children's hospital as his parents. Unfortunately, on his way to pick up Brie, Brady gets into a motorcycle accident. The season ends with this dramatic and uncertain turn of events, leaving viewers wondering what will happen next for our beloved characters in Virgin River.
