Published: Jul 15 2024

Episode 5 of WandaVision rekindles its sitcom charm, showcasing Wanda tenderly cradling one baby while Vision holds the other. However, their efforts to soothe the incessant cries of the infants prove futile. Aunt Agnes, sensing their distress, steps in to lend a hand. But her intervention takes an odd turn when she breaks character, urging Wanda to "try again." In a blink, the twins, Tommy and Billy, abruptly transform into five-year-olds.

The opening scene, reminiscent of Full House, concludes with a heartwarming family portrait on the lush grass, mirroring the iconic sitcom's scenes. We then shift our focus to Monica, who recounts her experiences within the anomaly during an interview. She quickly changes attire and attends the morning briefing.

Hayward, seizing the opportunity, spins the narrative, labeling Wanda a terrorist. Monica, however, offers a different perspective, arguing that the barrier serves as a quarantine, encircling Wanda's own creation. Hayward counters with CCTV footage, revealing Wanda's storming of a facility nine days ago, snatching Vision's corpse, reviving him, and drawing him into this surreal sitcom world. The mystery surrounding this event deepens, particularly given the absence of the Mind Stone, yet it casts a ominous shadow over the future.

Back inside the sitcom, Wanda and her crew adopt a new puppy, but things start to unravel when Wanda unleashes her powers in the open. Vision is deeply troubled, particularly when the children abruptly age into ten-year-olds.

This news spreads to the group outside, prompting Monica to reenter the anomaly. Before venturing in, she realizes that Wanda is rewriting reality. If she can alter things as they enter the "Hex" (Darcy's nickname for the anomaly), what would happen if they sent something that shouldn't be changed?

To test this theory, the group sends an email, teetering on the brink of the sitcom's transition into the digital age of computers and emails. Inside the email, the chilling news of the Maximoff Anomaly and radiation is read aloud by every individual within Vision's workplace, leaving him bewildered. Vision utilizes his powers to touch his colleague Norm, who begs him to intervene and stop Wanda before it's too late.

Monica dispatches a drone to negotiate, but Wanda remains unyielding. As it turns out, Hayward had armed the drone and instructed the authorities to take the shot. However, they are interrupted by a breach at the perimeter as Wanda drags the drone out from the inside. She commandeers the guards, pointing their guns towards Hayward, and returns to her home unscathed.

Inside the sitcom, Tommy and Bill encounter grief for the first time as their beloved dog Sparky passes away. They plead with Wanda to restore their pet's life, but she refuses, asserting that there are rules... just as Vision appears. That evening, Vision confronts Wanda about the ongoing situation. She remains silent as the credits roll, but eventually the two speak. Vision confesses his fear and tells Wanda that her actions are wrong... only to be interrupted by the doorbell. As she opens the door, Pietro stands there, Quicksilver returned!
