Episode 6 of "When The Stars Gossip" kicks off with the vivid images being downloaded onto Jae-ryong's computer screen, confirming the triumphant penetration of Choi's sperm into the eggs. A reluctant congratulations escapes Go-eun's lips, prompting Jae-ryong to spring a surprise proposal: he urges Go-eun to marry Kang-su.
Yet, aboard the space station, not everything is as light-hearted as it may seem. The astronauts are left in a tense state of disarray upon discovering the clandestine operation. Kang-su fabricates a tale about the samples' origins, falsely claiming that he had stolen Santi's sperm for the procedure. Kang-su stands his ground, but Eve makes a bold, executive decision, intending to report the matter to the MCC and promptly discard the eggs.
Ryong voices his own objections, yet Eve remains steadfast. She emphasizes that the eggs, exposed to numerous risks in the void of space and unprotected by a mother's womb, pose too high a risk to undertake. Furthermore, given that it violates space ethics, she cannot permit it to proceed. Despite Ryong's best efforts to persuade her, the fertilized eggs are callously destroyed.
Enraged, Ryong accuses Eve of murder for her actions. He disagrees with her assessment and reports Kang-su's violations to Mission Control. Eve remains the Commander for the meantime, while Kang-su faces disciplinary action – albeit not immediately. Still reeling from Dong-a's betrayal, Eve asserts her authority across the station with a mind preoccupied by the betrayal.
Back on Earth, Jae-ryong and the two women are met with a harsh reality when Kang-su reveals the destruction of the morulas. Their only glimmer of hope now rests with Ryong, who happens to possess three egg samples, which he had secretly obtained earlier in the series. However, with the microscope and tools under Eve's stringent 24/7 surveillance, it appears to be an almost impossible mission.
The immense pressure of these events proves too overwhelming for Jae-ryong, ultimately causing him to collapse. Fortunately, he recovers, but upon regaining consciousness, he insists that the women convey his mission to Ryong, urging him to take the reigns. Though Go-eun and Min-jeong are on the brink of surrender, Jae-ryong, in his stubborn resolve, refuses to entertain the notion of giving up.
Meanwhile, back at the station, Seung-jun engages Mina in conversation, proposing that they share the lottery winnings amongst themselves and Santi. After some negotiation, the trio reaches a consensus. Yet, none of them are privy to Ryong's secret contemplation—whether to attempt fertilizing the eggs without the aid of a microscope. His devised plan entails the other astronauts steadying him as he operates in his spacesuit, in exchange for their silence regarding the lottery ticket. Santi, curious about the rationale, prompts Ryong to reveal his true intentions. Initially skeptical, the others eventually relent.
Upon learning of this plan, Mina decides against participating, but her reluctance is overshadowed by the arrival of her compatriots, forming an unwavering alliance. Tension mounts as the men anchor Ryong's legs while he performs the delicate task. It's crucial to remember that we have but three eggs, and the margin for error is perilously slim.
The initial two attempts falter, and just as Eve appears on the scene, Ryong is compelled to freeze and conceal himself within the space suit. She, in search of their stash of alcohol, scours the area, creating an atmosphere thick with suspense. Seung-jun, quick-witted, concocts a tale about a late-night libation, which appears to placate her curiosity. Miraculously, they manage to proceed unnoticed.
In the climactic twist, Mina emerges as the heroine who swoops in to save the day, particularly when Ryong's crucial needle drifts perilously beyond the room's confines. With swift precision, Mina snatches it from the air, deftly relaying it back to Ryong, and together, the team soldiers on until their mission is triumphantly deemed a success. Ryong exhales a deep breath of relief, mingling with the joyous congratulations exchanged amongst their comrades for a job executed with utmost finesse.
Yet, this triumph is but one of the evening's highlights. Eve gently guides Ryong over to witness a heartwarming scene—the mice, in a mesmerizing display, engage in a successful courtship ritual. A soft purple glow envelops the pair as Eve and Ryong exchange glances, electricity crackling silently between them, hinting at untold stories yet to unfold.
