Episode 3 of "Who is She" kicks off with an electrifying confrontation as Mal-soon and Emily find themselves staring at each other from within each other's bodies. Before they can engage in a meaningful exchange, Emily's fellow group members swiftly intervene, whisking Mal-soon away amidst warnings to steer clear of any trouble.
Elsewhere, Ha-na crosses paths with Emily, now trapped in Mal-soon's form, and mistaking her for her grandmother, earnestly pleads with her to return home. The encounter abruptly cuts short Emily's chance to meet Daniel, prompting her hasty departure.
At Ha-na's audition, a bombshell is dropped: Mal-soon had brokered a deal with Daniel, promising to recruit Ha-na as a trainee in exchange for her cooperation. After the audition, Ha-na makes her way home, serendipitously bumping into her father on the journey, her heart leaping with the assumption that Mal-soon had returned. Alas, their joy turns to disappointment when they realize she is still missing.
The following day, Mal-soon finds herself in a precarious position, struggling to blend in while becoming the pincushion for mocking laughter and relentless bullying. Despite the persistent threats from her teammates, she stands her ground, unwavering and resolute. Later in the evening, Daniel invites her out for dinner, attempting to communicate in English, hoping that the familiar language might jog her memories. With a serene demeanor, Mal-soon calmly replies that she doesn't understand a single word he's saying, leaving him puzzled yet undeterred.
Eventually, an accommodating staff member at UNIS whisks Mal-soon away for a transformative hair makeover, bidding a fond farewell to her outdated "grandma hair." Upon her return to the company, Mal-soon confidently announces that she prefers to be addressed as Oh Du-ri, eschewing her former moniker Emily. With a spring in her step, she takes the stage, albeit solo, to perform a tune that was once her signature at the club. Daniel, chance upon her melodious vocals, seamlessly joins in, creating a harmonious duo. Meanwhile, Kim Ae-sim watches from a distance, her unease palpable.
Daniel embarks on a rigorous training program for Mal-soon, immersing her in K-pop tunes and coaching her to master modern melodies. Separately, Hana secures her spot as a UNIS trainee and embarks on a new chapter, moving into the dormitories despite her mother's reluctance. The established members of the debut group feel a pang of threat, seeing Hana practice alongside them, especially considering her close bond with Mal-soon.
Elsewhere, Ban Ji-sook visits her frail father in the hospital, where she uncovers a startling revelation—her mother had woven a web of lies throughout her life. Amidst this emotional turmoil, Ji-sook's husband is bombarded with letters demanding the repayment of his loans, adding fuel to the fire.
The episode concludes with Mal-soon extending a heartfelt apology to Daniel for her altercation with a drunken miscreant the preceding night. Just as she turns to leave, she comes face-to-face with Kim Ae-sim, the tension between them almost palpable.
