Shifting gears to the present, Marifer's unexpected visit to Alex's abode unleashes a chain of revelations when she stumbles upon Elisa's harrowing video. The sight of the girl bound and helpless sends shockwaves through her, prompting Alex to snap, violently ejecting the young woman from his home. Marifer's frantic call to Clara is intercepted by Nicandro's sudden arrival, who promptly spirits Elisa away.

Elsewhere, Lorenzo and Chema embark on a treacherous endeavor to exhume Moncho's remains, their bond tested by the weight of their past. Midway through their grim task, Chema is struck by the devastating news of Cesar's suicide, causing him to abruptly abandon Lorenzo at the desolate construction site. Despite the undeniable affection Lorenzo harbors for Cesar, their history is fraught with acrimony and betrayal, notably Cesar's violent retaliation upon discovering Lorenzo's sexuality.

Meanwhile, Elisa finds herself trapped in a nightmarish scenario, at the mercy of a vengeful Sergio. He toys with her, declaring that everything she possesses now belongs to him, and it's time for him to reclaim what he sees as his due. The tension mounts as Elisa struggles to stay afloat amidst Sergio's twisted games.

Alex persists in his relentless pursuit, meticulously uncovering the registration details of the car that has been tailing him, a trail that inevitably leads him back to Sergio. Eventually, his search culminates in the discovery of the vehicle, abandoned and forgotten in a desolate scrapyard, a grim find that inextricably ties him to Abel. As he delves deeper into the digital labyrinth, the narrative fleetingly transports us to a poignant flashback, where Sara, her heart heavy, visits her father once more in the confines of the psychiatric hospital, surreptitiously slipping him a wad of cash.

Returning to the present, the tension mounts as Chema and Rodolfo burst into Alex's abode, their fury palpable as they confront him about Cesar's fate. Alex, unflinching, produces the incriminating tape and narrates the tale of Sergio's escape, his voice steady amidst the chaos.

Concurrently, Officer Morales arrives, her presence casting a somber shadow over Lorenzo's world as she seeks answers about Moncho's tragic demise. Lorenzo, his composure fraying at the edges, struggles to maintain a facade of normalcy, ushering her into his office with a forced politeness. However, the cracks in his facade are all too evident.

As the episode draws to a close, the camera pans to the solemn setting of the coroner's office, where a stunning revelation unfolds. Cesar's eyes flicker open, shattering the illusion of his demise. It transpires that the gunshot heard in the previous episode was a meticulously orchestrated ruse, executed by a nearby officer who fired into the ground at the precise moment Cesar collapsed, creating the grim illusion of self-inflicted harm.
