Episode 2 of "Wind Breaker" kicks off with Sakura feeling irritated as he grudgingly carries a grandmother piggyback-style into Kotoha's restaurant. Kotoha, with a playful twinkle in her eye, crafts a mouthwatering sandwich for Sakura and peppers their conversation with teasing remarks, causing the blush-prone Sakura to turn scarlet at the merest hint of humorous provocation. Just as their banter reaches a crescendo, Nirei, a bright yellow-haired and somewhat clumsy first-year student from Furin, bursts into the scene, tumbling and landing on his face in a comically awkward manner.
Nirei, an avid fanboy thrilled about his new school, immediately draws attention to Sakura's distinctive hair color. Sakura, sensing a potential rival, is amused when Nirei hilariously mistakes the whites of his hair for a sign of stress! Kotoha watches the exchange with amusement as Nirei continues to innocently rile Sakura up, gushing about how Furin students are the town's heroes. When Nirei inquiries about Sakura's reasons for coming to town, Sakura replies confidently that he aims for the top. In response, Nirei adds fuel to the fire with a humorous comment about Sakura's risk of going bald if he tries too hard, a jest aimed at his unusual hair color.
After Nirei departs, Sakura vents to Kotoha about how people like him may seem strong but are actually weak on the inside. Kotoha, wise and perceptive, uses an analogy of coffee beans to broaden Sakura's perspective. She likens the transition of the red coffee cherry to a brown coffee bean, urging him to view people from different angles.
As Sakura walks along, he is inundated with gifts and tokens of gratitude from the townsfolk, who thank him for his past assistance. Just then, a girl approaches him for help, revealing that Nirei has been valiantly, yet futilely, trying to fend off a group of bullies who were harassing her. As the bullies close in on a defenseless Nirei, Sakura springs into action, dispatching them with lightning speed and brute force.
Nirei stands in awe, yet his heart is torn with self-blame for his perceived weakness. He recounts the dark days of middle school bullying, when a savior from Furin High emerged to rescue him. Driven by a desire to emulate the cool demeanor of his heroes from Furin, Nirei pours out his soul. Sakura, listening intently, feels her heart melt as she recalls Kotoha's wise words. She gently assures Nirei that he is anything but lame. Just then, the grateful girl approaches to thank the duo for their bravery. And for Nirei, this moment marks the beginning of a beautiful friendship – Sakura becomes his first true companion.
Together, Nirei and Sakura embark on their first day at Furin High, brimming with excitement. Nirei's eyes light up as he spots his favorite fighters in the same class, but a sense of unease creeps in when he notices a particularly menacing figure. As they venture into the classroom of the notorious delinquent, a surprising twist unfolds. Suo, far from the brute Nirei envisioned, cracks jokes with a broad smile, casting an aura of friendliness and mischief. His playful antics are a stark contrast to Nirei's expectations, as Suo warmly embraces Sakura and the others, leaving both Nirei and Sakura astonished by the camaraderie amidst a school notorious for its delinquency.
The atmosphere is light and playful until a dangerous-looking student named Kyotaro hurls a table towards the group. Kyotaro, as eager for a fistfight as Sakura, poses a challenge that ignites the sparks of battle.
