Fortunately, Storm and Forge arrive in the nick of time, swooping in to rescue the beleaguered teenagers.

Cyclops engages in a heated debate with Professor X, challenging his decision to appoint Magneto as the school's leader. The telepath responds with candor, explaining that he sought to offer his friend a fresh start and a chance for Scott and Jean to embrace a life of their own. Elsewhere, Rogue stirs from her slumber, while Storm and Forge arrive at the mansion, rounding out the group. With everyone present, they convene to strategize their next move. One faction is tasked with locating Magneto and convincing him to restore Earth's magnetic field to its natural state. Concurrently, another group sets their sights on Bastion's headquarters, intent on neutralizing his threat.

Despite the absence of a method to undo the Prime Sentinel upgrades, Forge and Beast harbor a belief that they can restore their innate humanity. They propose the use of a device akin to the one that suppressed Jean's powers during her Phoenix incarnation. While they initially considered using neutralizer technology, Storm firmly rejects their suggestion, her instincts guiding her towards a safer path.As Professor X engaged in a discussion with Rogue about Gambit, Magneto unexpectedly arrived, his hands clutching an immense asteroid, a testament to his unparalleled powers. With a heavy heart, he revealed that Genosha, the utopian dream Xavier had always cherished, was now a shattered memory, and there was no reversing the atrocities committed by the humans. In an offer of solace, he extended an invitation to the X-Men to join him in establishing a new sanctuary, a replacement for what had been taken from them.

Rogue was the first to respond, stepping resolutely to Magneto's side. Storm, attempting to sway her, pleaded with Rogue, but she was adamant. None of them had witnessed the devastation on Genosha, she declared, and she refused to bear witness to more mutant deaths. Roberto, too, chose to align with Magneto, his trauma from being delivered to the Prime Sentinels by his own mother running deeper than anyone knew.

As the X-Men converged, Bastion unleashed his technopathic prowess, charging a swarm of sentinels into battle. Storm and Forge battled the mechanical horde in the skies, while Jean, Beast, Cable, and Morph took the fight to the ground. Despite their valiant efforts, the sentinels tracked them down and attacked with relentless precision.

It was then that Morph, in one of his most heroic moments, transformed into the Hulk, smashing through the machines with brute force. However, their celebration was short-lived as Mr. Sinister emerged from Jean's shadow, intent on complicating the situation. He taunted her, offering to reveal the secrets of her past alterations, but Jean, enraged, attacked him without hesitation.

Meanwhile, the remainder of the team arrived at Magneto's asteroid, determined to persuade him to abandon his course. Their pleas fell on deaf ears, and soon the atmosphere was charged with the tension of a brewing conflict. Professor X, realizing the gravity of the situation, instructed Cyclops to remove Magneto's helmet, hoping to hijack his powers and avert disaster, even as the rest of the team continued their mission.

Meanwhile, Morph cunningly posed as Mr. Sinister, plotting to deceive Bastion, yet the shrewd villain quickly discerned their ruse. Beast valiantly attempted to approach Bastion, intent on placing a collar device that would incapacitate him, but the sentinel was just as vigilant, capturing him as well.

Simultaneously, the genuine Mr. Sinister remotely manipulated Cable, compelling him to unleash his telekinetic abilities against Jean. She cried out to Scott, professing her love before seemingly succumbing to her fatal wounds.

Amidst the chaotic battle, Wolverine managed to wrench Magneto's helmet off, granting Xavier a fleeting opportunity to commandeer his formidable powers. However, Cyclops intervened, firing a shot at Xavier, as he dreaded the prospect of awakening the Prime Sentinels and pitting them against the X-Men in their bid to vanquish Bastion. This misfortune allowed Magneto to seize his chance, capturing all the mutants present, including the esteemed Professor.

Unfortunately, he overlooked Wolverine, assuming him to be unconscious. Little did he know, Logan was merely biding his time, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. With a swift and decisive move, he plunged his claws into Magneto, intending to slay him. In his dying breath, the master of magnetism summoned his remaining strength, using it to dislodge the Adamantium embedded within his foe.
