Beyond their musical endeavors, the 36-year-old Rocky and 37-year-old Rihanna have carved a niche for themselves in the fashion industry and entrepreneurship, all while nurturing their two children, RZA and Riot. "It's delightful to see the museum shine a light on menswear after such a long time, along with celebrating the incredible talent of numerous Black designers. The Costume Institute's highly anticipated 2025 exhibition and inaugural gala revolves around the theme "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style." Rocky is co-chairing this prestigious event alongside Colman Domingo, F1 ace Lewis Hamilton, Pharrell Williams, and Wintour, with LeBron James serving as the honorary chair. According to Vogue, the 2025 Met Gala theme delves into "the significance of clothing and style in shaping Black identities within the Atlantic diaspora." This marks the museum and gala's first focus on menswear since the Costume Institute's 2003 exhibition titled "Men in Skirts."
Wintour also revealed that she had discussed their red carpet attire for this fashion extravaganza, which will take place on May 5 at New York City's Metropolitan Museum of Art. "I had a chat with A$AP Rocky yesterday about his ensemble, but I'm still clueless about Rihanna's outfit," teased Wintour.
Back in October, Rihanna admitted that she and Rocky were still ironing out their wardrobe choices. "He hasn't shared anything with me. Our only plan is to be there. I'm not concerned about him; I'm more worried about my own look," she confessed about her preparations.
Rihanna and Rocky have always been among Wintour's favorite celebrities. Since co-chairing the event in 1995, Wintour, who has stringent guidelines for guests, has granted the Fenty Beauty founder a special exemption for tardiness. In a 2014 "73 Questions" interview with Vogue, she revealed that the "Umbrella" singer is the only celebrity permitted to arrive late to her parties.
