Chris Hemsworth is rumored to be in negotiations to join another blockbuster franchise, further expanding his already illustrious acting resume. After his memorable portrayal of Marvel's Thunder God, Thor, and the psychotic villain, Dementus, in George Miller's "Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga," Hemsworth is now in talks to headline the eagerly anticipated crossover between the "Transformers" and "G.I. Joe" franchises from Paramount Pictures.

The crossover between the two iconic '80s brands, first teased in last year's "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts," was officially confirmed by Paramount at this year's CinemaCon. In the thrilling climax of "Rise of the Beasts," Anthony Ramos' character Noah encounters a mysterious government operative named Agent Burke, portrayed by the "House of Cards" star Michael Kelly. Burke hands Noah a business card, revealing that he works for the elite commando unit known as the G.I. Joes, after Noah saves the world alongside the Autobots.

Although the two franchises have crossed paths in Marvel comics before, this would mark the first time they unite on the silver screen, promising a thrilling and unprecedented adventure for moviegoers.

"Noah's transformation from an unemployed individual to a holder of the ultimate job is a natural fit for the story," producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura shared with Variety at the "Rise of the Beasts" premiere. "It didn't feel forced or cynical to introduce the G.I. Joes into the narrative. Our fans have high expectations, and we want to ensure that we deliver a satisfying crossover that lives up to their anticipation. It took us some time to figure out the Maximals, but now we have a clear vision of how to kickstart the Joes' story."

Hemsworth's potential involvement in the crossover would mark his second role in the "Transformers" franchise, as he already voices the young Optimus Prime, known as Orion Pax, in the animated movie "Transformers One," set to hit theaters on September 20.

Di Bonaventura, Mark Vahradian, Michael Bay, Tom DeSanto, and Don Murphy will serve as producers for the crossover, while Steven Spielberg and Hasbro Entertainment will executive produce. With such a talented team behind the scenes and Hemsworth potentially leading the cast, the upcoming crossover promises to be a blockbuster hit that will thrill audiences worldwide.
