Olivia Rodrigo and The 1975 are poised to steal the spotlight at Glastonbury 2025, marking a music milestone for both acts. Matty Healy and his bandmates will electrify the Pyramid stage on Friday, while Rodrigo, renowned for her powerful vocals and hits like "Driver's License," "Good 4 U," and "Deja Vu," will captivate audiences on Sunday at the UK's premier music festival, held from June 25th to 29th at Worthy Farm in Somerset.
Joining them on the line-up are musical heavyweights Neil Young, Charli XCX, Noah Kahan, The Prodigy, Raye, Loyle Carner, Gracie Abrams, among others, alongside the previously announced legend, Rod Stewart, who will enchant crowds with his Legends set. This marks Rodrigo and The 1975's debut as headliners at Glastonbury. Rodrigo, who skyrocketed to fame with her debut album "Sour," has since solidified her status with her sophomore effort, "Guts." Meanwhile, Healy-led The 1975, hailing from Cheshire, need no introduction to the significance of gracing Glastonbury's stages; their chart-toppers such as "Somebody Else," "About You," and "Chocolate" resonate with fans worldwide.
Earlier this year, Neil Young experienced a change of heart regarding his participation after initially withdrawing, citing the festival's "corporate control" by the BBC. In January, the Canadian-American singer took to his website to explain that his new band, Chrome Hearts, had booked a slot but would pull out due to BBC's meddling. "We were told that BBC was now a partner in Glastonbury and wanted us to do a lot of things in a way we were not interested in," Young lamented. "It seems Glastonbury is now under corporate control and is not the way I remember it being."
However, Young soon reversed his decision, clarifying in a subsequent post that "due to an error in the information received," he had mistakenly decided against performing. "Happily, the festival is now back on our itinerary and we look forward to playing. Hope to see you there!" he enthused.
Rumors swirling around potential appearances by Rihanna or Harry Styles at Glastonbury remain unconfirmed, leaving music enthusiasts eagerly anticipating the official announcements.
