"Feel the thrill in the palm of your hand." Apple has unveiled an exclusive, groundbreaking trailer for the F1 film, designed solely for viewing on your phone. This unique trailer incorporates "haptic" vibration feedback, immersing you in the experience as you watch. Directed by Joe Kosinski, the mastermind behind Tron: Legacy, Oblivion, and Top Gun: Maverick, F1 promises to be an exhilarating cinematic journey, set to hit theaters everywhere later this month.
Last month, we were treated to a breathtaking second trailer, and since last year, we've been sharing teasers and featurettes that build anticipation for this film. F1 tells the story of a legendary Formula One driver, played by Brad Pitt as Sonny Hayes, who, after a devastating crash years ago, decides to come out of retirement to guide a promising young racer, portrayed by Damson Idris. The star-studded cast also includes Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, Javier Bardem, Sarah Niles, as well as real-life F1 legends Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen, among others, portraying themselves.
This special "haptic" trailer is a marvel that can only be experienced on Apple phones via the Apple TV app. As you play it, the roar of the engines and the intense vibrations of the Formula One cars are tangibly felt in your hands, creating an unparalleled sensory experience. While it may seem like a clever promotional gimmick, there's no denying the innovation behind this unique presentation of the film. One can only wonder if they'll eventually make movie theater seats vibrate in sync with the engines too!
In F1, Sonny Hayes, a Formula One racer from the 1990s, is forced into retirement after a horrific crash. Years later, he is approached by a friend and Formula One team owner who asks him to mentor Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris), a rookie prodigy, on the Apex Grand Prix team (APXGP). Helmed by visionary American filmmaker Joe Kosinski, F1 also boasts a screenplay penned by Ehren Kruger, whose credits include Arlington Road, Scream 3, Reindeer Games, The Ring, Blood & Chocolate, Transformers 2-4, Ghost in the Shell, Dumbo, and Top Gun: Maverick.
Produced by a dream team including Jerry Bruckheimer, Chad Oman, Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, Lewis Hamilton, and Joe Kosinski, F1 is a collaboration between Apple Studios, Bruckheimer Films, Plan B, and Dawn Apollo Films. In partnership with Warner Bros., F1 will race onto theater screens worldwide starting June 27th, 2025, promising an unforgettable summer cinema experience. Who's ready for the ride of their life?
