Justin Long and Kate Bosworth are reigniting their on-screen chemistry and off-camera camaraderie with their latest venture, "Coyotes." Aura Entertainment has secured the rights to distribute the horror-comedy feature, set for a theatrical release on October 3, as exclusively revealed by The Hollywood Reporter. The star-studded cast of director Colin Minihan's film also boasts Mila Harris (of "Mary" fame), Brittany Allen ("Dexter: Original Sin"), Katherine McNamara ("Shadowhunters"), and Norbert Leo Butz ("A Complete Unknown").
"Coyotes" revolves around a family desperately battling for survival as they find themselves cornered in their Hollywood Hills abode, hunted by a relentless pack of coyotes. The thriller will make its premiere at Fantastic Fest on September 20.
At the helm is Minihan, best known for "Grave Encounters," who directed the film from a screenplay penned by Tad Daggerhart ("The Expendables 4") and Nick Simon ("The Pyramid"). Produced by Capstone Studios, the project boasts producers Nathan Klingher, Joshua Harris, and Ford Corbett for Gramercy Park, alongside Jib Polhemus for Source Management and Production.
"Coyotes" stands out as a sophisticated, subtly nuanced horror-comedy with an eerie undertone," comments Aura Entertainment CEO Marc Goldberg. "Anchored by the dynamic duo of Justin Long and Kate Bosworth, 'Coyotes' is destined to be an unforgettable cinematic experience that will linger in moviegoers' minds this autumn. At Aura, we pride ourselves on bringing bold, genre-savvy, and unapologetically creative films to audiences worldwide."
Long and Bosworth, who tied the knot in 2023, serve as executive producers alongside Daggerhart, Simon, Christian Mercuri, David Haring, Roman Viaris, Ruzanna Kegeyan, Jason Carpenter, James Harris, Adam Mirels, Robbie Mirels, Tyler Gould, Michael Sklut, Jijo Reed, and John Polequin. This film marks their latest on-screen collaboration, following "Barbarian" and "House of Darkness."
Aura Entertainment's upcoming slate also includes "Code 3," starring Rainn Wilson, Lil Rel Howery, and Aimee Carrero; Lilly Singh's sex-education comedy "Doin' It"; and the Dave Bautista-led action flick "Trap House."
