With "Bugonia," Lanthimos bids farewell to his longtime home at Searchlight Pictures, which has been the launchpad for many of his acclaimed films, including Oscar winners "Poor Things" and "The Favourite," as well as the upcoming "Kinds of Kindness." His latest offering is a spinoff of the South Korean sci-fi comedy "Save the Green Planet!," written and directed by Jang Joon-Hwan and produced by Sidus.

Stone, who has collaborated with Lanthimos on "The Favourite" and "Poor Things," joins the director once again for this thrilling adventure. Meanwhile, Plemons, who stars alongside Stone in "Kinds of Kindness," which hits theaters this weekend alongside Willem Dafoe, Margaret Qualley, and Hong Chau, will lend his talents to "Bugonia." The Oscar-nominated Greek auteur is also renowned for his works such as "Dogtooth," "The Lobster," and "The Killing of a Sacred Deer."

The English-language adaptation of "Bugonia" was nurtured by CJ ENM, alongside Ari Aster and Lars Knudsen at Square Peg. Fremantle and CJ ENM jointly financed the production, with producer credits shared among Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe (Element Pictures), Lanthimos, Aster, Lars Knudsen (Square Peg), Stone (Fruit Tree), and Miky Lee and Jerry Ko (CJ ENM). This collaboration promises to deliver an unforgettable cinematic experience.
