As with the previous announcements regarding Strahovski and Speedman's involvement, details surrounding Spencer's role are being kept tightly under wraps. However, we can reveal that he will portray the character of Ruben Shanley, adding another layer of intrigue and suspense to the series.

"Teacup" promises to be a gripping tale that follows a group of individuals in rural Georgia who must unite in the face of a mysterious and deadly threat to survive. While the show's setting differs from the novel, which took place in Texas, the essence of the story remains intact, promising an edge-of-your-seat experience.

After several months of intense development, Peacock officially gave the green light to the project in late 2022, signaling its high expectations for the series. Ian McCulloch, who adapted the novel for the screen, will executive produce along with Wan, Michael Clear, and Rob Hackett from Atomic Monster, as well as episode one director E.L. Katz, McCammon, Francisca X. Hu, and Kevin Tancharoen. Strahovski will also serve as a producer on the series, which is gearing up to begin production soon.

Spencer's recent credits include his standout performance in Marvel's "Echo," where he portrayed Henry Black Crow Lopez, the uncle of the lead character Maya Lopez (played by Alaqua Cox). His portrayal of the character earned him widespread praise and recognition. Prior to that, he starred opposite Emily Blunt in the critically acclaimed Amazon/BBC limited series "The English," earning nominations for both a BAFTA and a Royal Television Society award. Spencer's resume also boasts credits in the "Twilight" films, NBC's "Blindspot," "Sneaky Pete," "Banshee," and the feature film "Wild Indian," for which he received a nomination for a Spirit Award in the category of supporting male actor. Spencer is represented by CESD, ATA Management, and Peikoff Mahan.
