Helmed by director Roshan Sethi, this heartwarming tale from Blue Harbor Entertainment will grace cinema screens on April 4th. "A Nice Indian Boy" revolves around Naveen (played by Soni), a reserved physician struggling to introduce his artistic boyfriend, Jay (Groff), to his conventional Indian parents, all while the looming specter of a grand wedding hangs in the air. "My parents are incredibly liberal," asserts Soni in the trailer, "just avoid the topics of drinking, sex, and any public displays of affection." Reflecting on their tumultuous yet enchanting journey, Groff muses, "Many find the immensity of love somewhat embarrassing. The family gatherings, the wedding—it's about bringing everyone together."

Sethi took the helm of this project, steering it from a script penned by Eric Randall, which is adapted from the playwriting talents of Madhuri Shekar. Renee Witt, Charlie McSpadden, Justin Baldoni, and Andrew Calof serve as producers, with Mindy Kaling lending her expertise as an executive producer.

Following its SXSW premiere last year, Angie Han of The Hollywood Reporter praised "A Nice Indian Boy," noting, "Its genuine strength lies in its empathy towards the complex emotions, subtle gestures, and the platonic and familial ties that underpin grand romantic gestures." Baldoni, who co-founded Wayfarer Studios—the production house behind last year's Sony blockbuster "It Ends With Us," which surpassed $350 million at the global box office—finds himself at the heart of a controversy amidst an ongoing legal dispute with lead actress Blake Lively, whom he also directed and co-starred alongside in the film.
