Ron Howard’s ‘Eden’ Joins Toronto Film Fest Lineup

TIFF has further enriched its lineup with four additional titles, showcasing world premieres such as Anderson .Paak's music-infused 'K-Pops,' Sophie Deraspe's heartfelt 'Shepherds,' and John Crowley's romantic drama 'We Live in Time,' boasting a stellar cast of Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield. The festival is also set to host the world premiere of Ron Howard's survival thriller 'Eden' in September, organizers revealed on Tuesday.

'Eden,' produced by Imagine Entertainment, stars Jude Law, Vanessa Kirby, Sydney Sweeney, Ana de Armas, and Daniel Brühl, and draws inspiration from real-life events, penned by Noah Pink of 'Tetris.' This gripping tale will take center stage at Roy Thomson Hall, marking a momentous occasion.

Toronto Film Festival also welcomes world premieres of 'K-Pops,' Anderson .Paak's directorial debut, showcasing a washed-up LA musician's journey to Seoul in pursuit of a K-Pop competition and an unexpected reunion with his long-lost son; 'Shepherds,' Sophie Deraspe's adaptation of the Canadian novel 'D’où viens tu, berger?,' following a young executive's transformation into a French shepherd; and 'Superboys of Malegaon,' directed by Indian filmmaker Reema Kagti, a heartwarming tale of an aspiring filmmaker and his friends' quest to make a film for their hometown.

Moreover, John Crowley's romantic drama 'We Live in Time' will also have its world premiere, captivating audiences with Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield's portrayal of a couple whose lives are transformed by love, home, family, and the challenges they face together. This poignant tale is helmed by the acclaimed director behind 'Brooklyn' and 'Boy A.'

Earlier announcements include Cate Blanchett receiving the TIFF Share Her Journey Groundbreaker Award, David Cronenberg being honored with the Norman Jewison Career Achievement Award, and Amy Adams, an Oscar-nominated actress, being feted with the TIFF Tribute Performer Award. The list of esteemed honorees also includes Jessica Chastain, Roger Deakins, Colman Domingo, Brendan Fraser, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Joaquin Phoenix, Taika Waititi, Michelle Yeoh, and Chloé Zhao.
