After gracing the screens as the leading star of "All American" for six scintillating seasons, Daniel Ezra has chosen to step aside and let the spotlight shine on others. While he won't reprise his role as a series regular in Season 7, the CW assures fans that Ezra will remain an indelible part of the franchise, gracing episodes as a guest star. The announcement follows the triumphant airing of Monday night's 13th episode of Season 6, titled "Victory Lap," which depicted Spencer (Ezra) being drafted into the NFL, fast-forwarding to a triumphant Super Bowl performance, and a heartfelt engagement to Olivia (Samantha Logan). The concluding episodes of Season 6 will chronicle Spencer and Olivia's journey to the altar as they plan their wedding with joy and anticipation.

The mutual decision to part ways was made by Ezra and showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll, even before the cameras rolled for Season 6. "Upon making the poignant choice to bid farewell to 'All American,' my sole mission was to ensure Spencer's journey was concluded in a manner that befits the profound impact he's had on my life," Ezra expressed in a statement. "Thanks to Nkechi and the brilliant writers, my wish was fulfilled. Season 6 serves as Spencer's heartfelt farewell. I'll cherish the memories of portraying him and our beloved cast and crew. I hope audiences have enjoyed watching him as much as I've loved playing him."

"Collaborating with Daniel Ezra over the past six remarkable seasons to breathe life into Spencer's narrative has been a transformative, enriching experience," Carroll reminisced. "Daniel is a rare talent, imbuing Spencer with depth and vitality on and off the field. As Spencer realizes his NFL aspirations, I'm grateful that Daniel will continue to be a vital member of our family, both in front of and behind the camera, as we embark on a fresh, exhilarating chapter of 'All American.'"

Not just an actor in "All American" since its inception, Ezra has also helmed several episodes, including the milestone 100th episode titled "100%," which aired on May 27. Produced by Berlanti Productions in partnership with Warner Bros. Television and CBS Studios, "All American" remains the CW's most-watched series, with an ensemble of esteemed executive producers including Carroll, Greg Berlanti, Jameal Turner, Sarah Schechter, Mike Herro, and David Strauss.
