Anne Hathaway's bucket list may shine brighter with a festive twist: The actress recently confessed her "fierce desire" to star in a Christmas film. "I've yet to craft a truly memorable Christmas movie," Hathaway revealed to Women's Wear Daily, adding, "It might sound quirky as a bucket list item, but I'm absolutely yearning to be part of a holiday-themed masterpiece."
Hathaway emphasized that this wish didn't overshadow her gratitude for the diverse genres she's explored. "As an actor, your career can take countless turns, and I'm profoundly aware of that," she said. "It truly astonishes me that this particular desire has captured my heart."
She elaborated, "Acting is such an eclectic profession that you sign up for, and I've never felt—perhaps only those who helm blockbusters grossing billions can relate, but if you cherish independent cinema as much as I do, you're endlessly thankful for roles that keep your creative juices flowing and allow you to dance between these two worlds seamlessly."
Elsewhere in the interview, Hathaway also hinted at the eagerly anticipated sequels to her beloved films, The Princess Diaries and The Devil Wears Prada, promising that both are "on the horizon, as swiftly as possible."
"I was enveloped in unparalleled care and nurturing during the making of both those films," Hathaway reminisced. "When I embarked on 'The Princess Diaries,' I was a legal infant in the industry, just blossoming into adulthood as we filmed – turning 18 amidst the shoot. And by the time 'The Devil Wears Prada' rolled around, I was still a spring chicken, but guided meticulously and pampered by the closely-knit communities that brought those movies to life, especially under the watchful eyes of their directors, Garry Marshall and David Frankel. It fills my heart with immense joy and anticipation to now be in a position to replicate that for others, armed with the wisdom, experience, and the confidence to nurture and lead on sets where I am looked upon as a guiding light."
Hathaway also shed light on her forthcoming (still unnamed) film venture with Christopher Nolan, a star-studded cast that boasts Zendaya, Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Charlize Theron, Robert Pattinson, and Lupita Nyong'o. "My emotions regarding this highly confidential project are so overwhelming that I'm finding it challenging to put them into words," she confessed. "It brings me boundless delight, yet I'm at a loss for how to discuss it."
The actress, who has previously collaborated with Nolan and his producing partner, Emma, on 'Interstellar,' added, "Being welcomed into their cinematic universe is, from my own experience, akin to entering one of the most extraordinary realms conceivable. Being invited back twice felt like a dream come true; the thought of a third time seemed almost too audacious to hope for. Honestly, it stirs deep emotions within me that it has indeed come to pass. It reassures me that I'm on the right track, doing something truly meaningful."
