The heart has its desires, as the mysterious celebrity who slipped into Selena Gomez's DMs can attest. While reviewing her direct messages on her husband, Benny Blanco's podcast, "Friends Keep Secrets," the star of "Only Murders in the Building" revealed that a male celebrity once sent her a flirtatious message, prompting Benny to deliver a hilarious response.
"Just heart eyes," Selena said on the March 3 episode, after Benny urged her to check if the male celebrity—whose name was bleeped out—had DM'ed her. "And fingers crossed [emojis]."
"Oh my god," Benny, 37, exclaimed in response. "What year was that?"
After Selena, 33, confirmed that the message was sent in 2022, Benny and his co-hosts, Lil Dicky and Kristin Batalucco, remained stunned by the admission. Lil Dicky, 37, even tried to reason that the message was sent in response to her Instagram Story, but Selena and Benny—who tied the knot in September 2025—quickly dismissed the idea.
"No, there's nothing that he responded to," the Disney Channel alum said. "It does say [the message] would respond to a story."
"There's nothing," Benny chimed in. "He's just saying, like, fingers crossed that you answer me back. There is no response. That's not how it works."
Despite another man sliding into his now-wife's DMs, Benny said he was impressed by the guy's confidence, admitting, "He took his shot... It was a good shot."
Selena also made it clear that there were no hard feelings about the exchange, sharing, "I think it's very kind. If anything, that was very nice."
"It did not feel inappropriate," the "Wolves" singer added. "By the way, that was the first time I've ever seen it!"
While Selena isn't paying attention to her DMs, one thing she is attuned to is the social discourse around her husband's feet. In fact, after the music producer sparked controversy over his dirty feet last month, Selena proved she would always be by her man's side with a touching tribute.
"I fall more and more in love with you every day," the Rare Beauty founder wrote on her Instagram Stories alongside a selfie video of herself and Benny repeatedly kissing, addressing the romantic message to "my love." Plus, she doubled down on her perspective by taking a moment during the March 3 podcast to kiss Benny's bare toe. After he jokingly asked if Selena liked that, he told his wife, "I liked it. It made me feel good. I love you so much."
