Following the discovery of the Brazilian tourist's lifeless body in Indonesia's Mount Rinjani, local coroners have officially confirmed the cause of her untimely death. According to a report secured by Agencia Brasil and translated from Portuguese, Marins succumbed to internal bleeding stemming from organ damage and bone fractures, the latter attributed to blunt force trauma, mere hours before her remains were uncovered. It is believed she passed away approximately 20 minutes after the bleeding commenced. Hypothermia was eliminated as a factor due to the absence of any finger damage. On June 21st, the 27-year-old adventurer was trekking around the active volcano when she slipped and plummeted off a precipice standing at an astonishing 12,000 feet. As revealed by the coroner via Agencia Brasil, Marins might have lingered, holding onto hope for rescue, for several days before her body was retrieved on June 24th. Throughout her harrowing disappearance, approximately 50 individuals tirelessly participated in search and rescue operations.

"With profound sorrow, the Brazilian government announces the passing of Brazilian tourist Juliana Marins, who tragically fell from a cliff encircling the trail adjacent to Mount Rinjani's crater," her homeland conveyed in a statement dated June 24th, noting that her body was located after "four arduous days of searching, complicated by adverse weather, terrain, and visibility challenges in the region." Mount Rinjani's official Instagram account also acknowledged the challenging circumstances that hindered the location of Marins' body. "The rescue mission proved arduous amidst steep terrain and dense fog," a June 25th statement read, "nevertheless, through the concerted efforts of all involved, the mission was successfully concluded."

In the days following the recovery of Marins' body, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva issued a decree to cover the expenses of repatriating her remains to her native land. "I shall enact a new decree mandating the Brazilian government to bear the cost of transporting Juliana's body back to Brazil," Lula da Silva posted on Instagram on June 27th, "ensuring her family and friends can bid her farewell with the affection and love she rightfully deserves."
