Even Stevens Alum Steven Anthony Lawrence Makes Rare Game Show Appearance on The Floor

Published: May 22 2026

Steven Anthony Lawrence, who played the beloved character Bernard “Beans” Aranguren in the Disney Channel hit series Even Stevens from 2001 to 2003, has returned to the small screen in a rare game show appearance on The Floor on Wednesday, May 20. Hosted by Rob Lowe, the quiz series features 100 contestants who face off in duels on a “giant LED floor divided into a hundred equal squares, each representing its own field of knowledge.” The overall winner scores a grand prize of $250,000, with daily winners potentially earning $20,000.

In his appearance, Lawrence, 35, stepped up to the plate and faced off against fellow contestant Morgan in the “Renaissance Faire” category. Given his previous roles as an elf and other character roles throughout his career, Lawrence shared that his favorite role was definitely Beans from Even Stevens. The studio audience applauded his response.

Lawrence’s other acting credits include Cheaper by the Dozen, The Cat in the Hat, and Kicking and Screaming. According to his IMDb page, he most recently voiced a character in the animated series Kabu in 2026 and appeared in a 2022 episode of Bad Therapist.

During the game show, Lowe asked Lawrence and Morgan to name an “item, activity, or character” they’d find at a “Renaissance Faire.” The winner would be closer to potentially winning the $20,000 prize (as well as the show’s grand prize). The Floor then presented them with a handful of related images, including a “queen,” “archer,” “knight,” and “turkey leg.” Lawrence held his own in the competition.

Eventually, according to TV Insider, Lawrence won the duel and secured 17 pieces on the game floor. He then faced off against another contestant named Anthony in the category of “Global News,” a duel that sent the Even Stevens alum packing.

Lawrence isn’t the first actor to appear on The Floor; he follows in the footsteps of Brian O’Halloran, Eric Lloyd, Dyllan Christopher, and others. The Floor, which is currently in its fifth season, airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on Fox.
