Amazon has entrusted the captivating mind of Moira Walley-Beckett, the creative genius behind "Anne With an E" and a skilled writer of "Breaking Bad," to helm its highly anticipated TV adaptation of "Fourth Wing." Produced by Michael B. Jordan's innovative Outlier Society, this epic tale springs from the pages of Rebecca Yarros' best-selling romantic fantasy series, "The Empyrean."

Set in the unforgiving world of Basgiath War College, where the sole dictum is stark: graduate or perish, "Fourth Wing" follows the story of Violet Sorrengail, a 20-year-old destined for a life of serenity. However, her mother, a revered general in the military, commands her to embark on a journey far from her serene aspirations. She is thrust into the ranks of hundreds of aspiring candidates, all vying to become dragon riders, the elite warriors of Navarre.

Since its inception in October 2023, "Fourth Wing" has been a collaboration between Amazon MGM Studios and Jordan's Outlier Society. Jordan himself, alongside Outlier's president Elizabeth Raposo, Walley-Beckett, author Yarros, and Liz Pelletier, the head of Entangled Publishing, where "Fourth Wing" is published, serve as executive producers. Stefano Agosto, Outlier Society's executive vice president of TV, will co-executive produce the series.

Yarros' "The Empyrean" series kicked off with "Fourth Wing" in May 2023, which has gracefully lingered on the New York Times bestseller list for over a year. Its sequel, "Iron Flame," graced shelves in November 2023, while "Onyx Storm," the third installment in this envisioned five-book saga, is poised to arrive in January 2025.

Walley-Beckett, a three-time Emmy Award winner for her contributions to "Breaking Bad," including Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series for the iconic episode "Ozymandias," went on to create and oversee Netflix and CBC's "Anne With an E" and Starz's limited series "Flesh and Bone." She is now a part of Amazon's first-look film and exclusive TV deals.

Outlier Society, under Jordan's leadership, has garnered significant attention with its projects, including "Creed III." The production company is also developing TV series like "The Thomas Crown Affair," "The Greatest," "Victories Greater Than Death," and "T-Minus," as well as a film adaptation of "Tom Clancy's Rainbow 6" at Paramount Pictures, helmed by director Chad Stahelski.

Walley-Beckett is represented by UTA, while Yarros is represented by Grandview and The Fury Agency. Outlier Society is represented by M88 and WME, while Entangled Publishing is represented by Independent Artist Group and Alliance Rights Agency.
