Hilaria Baldwin Slams Critics Saying 12-Year-Old Daughter Carmen Dresses "Way Older" for Her Age

Hilaria Baldwin is fiercely defending her daughter, Carmen, against online criticism over an outfit she wore in a recent Instagram video alongside her younger sisters, María Lucía and Ilaria. The 12-year-old's ensemble, which consisted of a white tank top, short khaki skirt, black tights, and a pearl body chain, was met with criticism from several users who felt it was too "grown-up" for a tween.

One commenter wrote, "Very uncomfortable to see a 12-year-old act this way," while another said Carmen was "way too young to be making videos." A third added, "Looks way older than 12."

But Hilaria wasn't having any of it. In a response video on Jan. 20, she said, "My kids are so safe wearing a tank top, skirt, and tights. She's been wearing that her whole life, so why is it making you uncomfortable?"

The 42-year-old mother continued, "Women can do more harm to each other through this kind of comment because it's shaming and it's not inclusive." She also slammed allegations that she's exposing Carmen to "predators" by allowing this behavior. "Predators are real," she said. "The way to take care of them is not through Instagram comments or shaming."

Accusing critics of having "untrue thoughts" about womanhood, Hilaria added, "Stop pretending and let's start looking in, seeing what's making us uncomfortable." And she believes the same applies to older women as well. In December, she called out an Instagram user who told her a cocktail dress she wore to a holiday party was "too short" for her age.

"Are you saying that 41-year-old women can't show off our legs?" Hilaria clapped back in a Dec. 2 Instagram video, which showed her in a floral, corset-style frock. "I don't care if they're 21, 41, 81, 101—our bodies, our legs are not offensive."
