Khloe Kardashian is keeping fans in the loop about her romantic status, addressing rumors that she and ex-boyfriend Tristan Thompson—who she split with in late 2021—are reconciling their romance as they continue to co-parent their children, True Thompson, 7, and Tatum Thompson, 3. "I find it hilarious that people are always asking, 'How do you let Tristan back in?'" Khloe, 41, said during the November 19 episode of her Khloe In Wonder Land podcast. "And I'm like, 'Well, Tristan is not back in.' He's just the father of my kids, so he's going to be around his kids, and I'm really grateful that he is." She continued, "I love that he has a great relationship with his kids. I think that's a beautiful blessing, and I'm never going to get in the way of that. I think it's so important for that relationship to maintain and be as strong as possible."
True to this bond, Khloe shared that Tristan, 34, often comes over to her house to tuck their little ones into bed since he "lives close." However, the former couple—who split in 2021 after two years of on-and-off dating—always wants his presence to only be "about the kids," so he'll leave once True and Tatum are asleep.
She also emphasized that they keep this approach in mind for other occasions, including celebrating the kids' birthdays and True's first day of school. While Khloe is grateful for their "great co-parenting" dynamic, she noted that it "definitely took time" for them to become cordial again following Tristan's cheating scandal. Specifically, for her part, she went to "a lot of therapy" and addressed her "healing" at her own pace. "I'm not invested in Tristan in a romantic way, so he doesn't affect me when he does come around," she confirmed. "He's just like one of my friends, like, 'Hey, what's up? Thank you so much. Have fun with the kids.' It's chill, but I know a lot of it is because of the work I've done."
But she didn't navigate through Tristan's past infidelity alone. In fact, Khloe revealed that her sister Kylie Jenner—mom to Stormi, 7, and Aire, 3, with Travis Scott—also helped her find a silver lining in trusting Tristan again. "Kylie is really one of the main reasons why I felt so safe and comfortable having Tatum," she said on the November 12 episode of her podcast, which featured Kylie as her guest. "Kylie was like, 'Come on! Aire is six months older than Tatum.'" Kylie also gave her older sister some words of wisdom at the time. "When I was crying and thinking, 'Why is this happening? I can't believe it's happening a second time,' you were like, 'But God makes no mistakes, and this was supposed to happen.' And now our sons get to grow up together.'"
