In an emotional trailer released on August 12th, filmed over a six-year period, Kim can be heard in tears, telling Kanye, "Your personality was not like this a few years ago." The footage then teases another tense exchange between the now-estranged couple, with Kanye, 48, warning Kim, 44, "Never tell me I'm gonna wake up one day and have nothing." Kim attempts to brush it off with, "We can talk about that later, but…" to which Kanye, who married Bianca Censori in 2022, snaps back, "It ain't no 'but.'"

Kim, who shares four children with Kanye - North West, 12, Saint West, 9, Chicago West, 7, and Psalm West, 6 - previously hinted at the reasons behind their split during a conversation with her sister Khloe Kardashian about her own divorce from Lamar Odom. "That's the hardest part," Kim explained during an episode of "The Kardashians" in February. "When you don't foresee something happening that really changes a person's personality, and then they're not the same person anymore, and you can't ever get that person back - but you can't live with the new person. I get it."

Despite their breakup, Kim and Kanye have put aside their differences for the sake of their children when necessary. For instance, they both attended North's performance in "The Lion King" at the Hollywood Bowl in May 2024. "Her dad has been involved," Kim shared during a confessional interview in a subsequent episode of the reality show. "Kanye and I want the best for the kids, so anytime we're here supporting our child, it's always good vibes."

"In Whose Name?" hits theaters on September 19th. In the meantime, fans eagerly await the release of this revealing documentary.
