Glenn Close has fiercely responded to the barrage of criticism directed at her latest series, "All's Fair," a legal drama helmed by Ryan Murphy and met with a string of zero-star reviews. In her assessment, Lucy Mangan of The Guardian labeled it as "fascinatingly, incomprehensibly, existentially terrible." The series currently sits at a 3% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

According to Close, the main culprit was the decision to air the weakest three episodes first. "I personally think that the first three episodes were the weakest," she told Variety. "That was a tough way to start. I've seen all nine episodes, and I think it actually adds up to something compelling."

She also offered her support for co-star Kim Kardashian, who portrays one of several women seeking a California divorce law firm. Close recounted having a positive on-set relationship with Kardashian, including an alcohol-fueled viewing of Close's movie classic "Fatal Attraction," organized by Kardashian's mother Kris Jenner. "What surprised me was Kim's seriousness of intent," Close said. "She always knew her lines. She never was late. She was always prepared. She had no pretensions that she was a great actress, but she was smart enough to surround herself with people she could learn from. If she had a big ego, or what I call a 'life-is-too-short person,' I would have been unhappy, but she's not."

Close also attributed part of the negative backlash to the Kardashians' reputation. "The Kardashians would say this themselves, but not everybody likes them. They have an image," she added.

Despite previous criticisms of the writing in an interview with The Guardian, Close has consistently spoken of her love for the show. She declared, "I swear to God, I've seen all nine episodes and it's pretty fucking good. It is what it is: juicy, outrageous at times, and touching."
