Imagine, could that cherubic infant possibly be Nell Hudson's bundle of joy? The star of 'Outlander' embarked on her motherhood journey after welcoming her and husband Max King's firstborn daughter into the world. On August 6th, Nell posted a heartfelt message on Instagram, accompanied by a snapshot of her hospital bed and a tiny arm belonging to her newborn. "I can't fathom how everyone is birthed by a woman, and we all carry on as if it's the most mundane occurrence," she penned. "MOTHERS—I stand in awe of each and every one of you."
Revealing that she is now "fractured in the most wondrous manner, yet completely whole," the 34-year-old added, "A novel term for love is desperately needed."
Indeed, Nell's path to motherhood was paved with boundless affection. Earlier this summer, she and Max had tied the knot. On July 4th, Nell shared photos from their wedding, donning a ruffled white gown while her groom gently cradled her baby bump. Captioning the post, "A sneak peek into our wedding album," she wrote, "What can I say that hasn't already been said? It was truly the best day ever."
The newlyweds honeymooned in Greece, where Nell indulged in an unplanned maternity photo shoot by the sea, orchestrated by her producer spouse. "Max captured these, and upon viewing them, I shed tears of pure joy," she captioned the pictures of herself embracing her bump at a waterfront dock. "The twilight of pregnancy is such a remarkable period. The sea, embodying the vast unknown I am about to venture into as a mother, signifies the final strides I am taking in this chapter of my life, ready to embark on a fresh journey."
To commemorate this pivotal moment in her life, Nell also participated in a professional maternity photo shoot with photographer Alexandra Cameron in the United Kingdom. "Without a 'glam' squad, I drove to the picturesque Cambridgeshire countryside, where we wandered through fields of tall grasses and wildflowers during the golden hour on a Thursday evening in May," she recounted on Instagram. "The photographs surpassed my wildest dreams, and I am deeply touched to possess such a cherished keepsake of this unforgettable time."
