Pete Davidson Shares What He’s Cutting From His Life to Prepare for Fatherhood

Pete Davidson is on a mission to become the paragon of paternal devotion and philanthropic zeal. At 31, the comedian has opted to swap his high-octane ride for something more family-friendly. As a result, he's launching a raffle to give away his Chevy Blazer to one fortunate fan, with all proceeds earmarked for the families of New York City police officers and firefighters who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty—specifically benefiting the organization Answer the Call. Given that his own father, Scott Davidson, was a New York City firefighter who lost his life during the 9/11 attacks, this cause resonates deeply with the soon-to-be dad.

"Hey, everyone, it's Pete Davidson, and here's your chance to win my K5 Blazer, equipped with a roaring LS3 fuel-injected engine," the actor declared in a promotional video for Altroo, the fundraising platform he's collaborating with for this online raffle. "With a baby on the way, you can't exactly shuttle a little one around in a car that sounds like this," he quipped, demonstrating the car's thunderous "vroom."

He went on, "I'm teaming up with Answer the Call because it's a charity close to my heart. It's the same organization that came to my family's aid when my dad passed away." Highlighting the profound impact of the charity, he added, "Choosing them was a no-brainer for me."

It's a poignant tribute to his late father as Pete himself prepares to step into the role of a parent. After revealing in July that he and his girlfriend, Elsie Hewitt, are expecting a baby, Pete has openly shared his enthusiasm for this new chapter. "I'm incredibly fortunate and overjoyed," he told E! News in July, expressing his eagerness to "provide a nurturing environment and offer the kind of childhood I never had."

And he's surrounded by a wealth of role models to guide him on this journey, including fellow SNL alum dads Adam Sandler and Colin Jost. "Everyone's been incredibly supportive and thrilled for me, knowing it's been a lifelong dream," he continued. "They've all been like, 'You're going to excel at this. It's the most rewarding experience you'll ever have.'"

He added, "It's been heartwarming to see everyone's enthusiasm. When you embark on something significant, especially having a child, you want the world to rally behind you."
