Quinton Aaron is on the road to recovery. After the star's family announced that he suffered a spinal stroke, they provided a positive update on his health. "Quinton is in a joyful mood, now laughing and smiling, and is communicating to the best of his ability as he continues to heal," Quinton's family told Us Weekly in a statement shared on February 6th. Regarding his condition, the family added, "To update everyone, he had a spinal stroke. He is alert, aware, and recovering." As the actor—who portrayed Michael Oher in the 2009 film—heals, his family promises to keep fans informed.

"The Aaron family has a lot to deal with for the betterment of their loved one," the statement continued. "But we will be sure to keep everyone posted regarding Quinton's health as we see fit."

"And to please understand that false information or statements may be made by others who continue to come forward but are not fully informed or aware of all of the facts surrounding his condition nor are they authorized to do so."

Following news of his hospitalization, Quinton's on-screen family also spoke out about his health. After all, his Blind Side costar Jae Head reflected on the pair's tight bond after learning of his friend's condition.

"Yesterday I got a call that Quinton is in the hospital in the ICU because he passed out at home and is in pretty bad shape," Jae, who played S.J. Tuohy in the film, wrote on a January 26th Instagram post that featured playful snaps of the pair. "Q is one of the nicest people I've ever had the opportunity to meet. He's one of my best friends. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers."
