Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner are now one step closer to their final resting place. A week after the beloved director of "The Princess Bride" and accomplished photographer were found dead in their Los Angeles home on December 14, with multiple stab wounds, their remains have been cremated, as reported by TMZ, who obtained the couple's death certificates.

E! News has reached out to the Los Angeles County Public Health Department for more information. While the details of their funeral proceedings have not been publicly shared yet, a spokesperson for Rob and Michele's children, Jake Reiner, 34, and Romy Reiner, 27, confirmed that they would be sharing information at a later date.
On December 16, Rob and Michele's son Nick Reiner was formally charged with their murders. The 32-year-old was charged with two counts of first-degree murder with a special circumstance of multiple murders, as announced by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office at a press conference. The charges carry a maximum sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole or the death penalty.
While Jake and Romy have yet to comment on the allegations against their brother, the siblings issued a statement on December 17, sharing their gratitude for the support they've received since their parents' deaths. "Words cannot even begin to describe the unimaginable pain we are experiencing every moment of the day," they said in a statement obtained by NBC News. "The horrific and devastating loss of our parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, is something that no one should ever experience. They weren't just our parents; they were our best friends."
Jake and Romy continued, "We are grateful for the outpouring of condolences, kindness, and support we have received not only from family and friends but people from all walks of life. Rob and Michele have also been remembered by their friends such as Billy Crystal, Larry David, Martin Short, and Albert Brooks, among others, who released a joint letter shortly after the couple's death.
"Absorbing all he had learned from his father Carl [Reiner] and his mentor Norman Lear, Rob Reiner not only was a great comic actor but became a master storyteller," they shared in a statement to the Associated Press on December 16. "There is no other director who has his range." The group noted that the Oscar nominee loved working with actors and made writers better. "Strong and determined, Michele and Rob Reiner devoted a great deal of their lives for the betterment of our fellow citizens," they continued. "They were a special force together—dynamic, unselfish, and inspiring. We were their friends, and we will miss them forever."
