On Sunday, February 16th, the 27-year-old Olympic gold medalist shared a snapshot via Instagram Stories, capturing a tender moment as she kissed the 29-year-old Owens on an airplane. Upon landing in South Africa, Biles kept her fans updated, revealing the luxurious suite that would be their temporary haven.
As the weekend unfolded, Biles delighted her followers with glimpses into their romantic and adventurous getaway. On Monday, February 17th, the couple's excursions continued with vim and vigor. Biles posted a selfie with Owens, both attired in safari gear, captioning it, "Ready for our first game drive." Later in the day, they beamed with joy as they posed beside an elephant. Their safari also introduced them to a warthog, whom Biles affectionately dubbed Pumba, a nod to the beloved Lion King character.
Amidst sharing snapshots of a slumbering cheetah and a herd of zebras, Biles found herself face-to-face with a majestic lion. With a touch of humor, she captioned the photo, "Not gonna lie, I almost [expletive] myself." Biles also labeled herself a "happy camper" in another picture posted early Tuesday, February 18th. In addition to their thrilling safari, the duo indulged in more leisurely activities, such as a soothing couples massage.
Biles and Owens exchanged their vows in April 2023, three years after their fateful meeting on the Raya dating app. Their initial wedding was a low-key affair at the Harris County Courthouse in Houston. They later celebrated with a second, grander wedding in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Two months post-nuptials, Biles revealed in an Instagram Q&A that they hadn't embarked on their honeymoon yet. "We haven't taken a honeymoon yet," she explained in August 2023.
The past two years have been dedicated to their respective careers, which seemingly postponed their honeymoon plans. Biles brought home four medals from the 2024 Summer Olympics, while Owens, an NFL player, signed with the Chicago Bears last year. Both have been unwavering supporters of each other's athletic endeavors. While Biles cheered Owens on at various Bears games, he skipped an NFL practice to witness her triumphs at the Paris Olympics last year.
During an April 2024 interview on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast, Biles raved about her husband, saying, "He praises the ground that I walk on. Truly, I've never met a man like him. He still opens my doors." She clarified, "I'm not saying that to imply that it's an expectation, but he genuinely goes above and beyond for me."
