The highly anticipated third season of "Euphoria" is now in full swing, yet Sydney Sweeney remains tight-lipped about the fate of her character, Cassie. During her Thursday appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," the talented "Echo Valley" actress offered merely a glimpse into the upcoming season of the acclaimed HBO Max series. However, she couldn't resist reacting to a leaked image of herself in a wedding dress on set.
Upon presenting Sweeney with the photo of her in bridal finery on the "Euphoria" set, Fallon inquisitively asked if her character ties the knot. "Um," Sweeney hesitated, "I'm afraid I can't confirm or deny that." Then, with a playful twist, the "Anyone but You" star quipped, "Who knows, that could be AI," to which Fallon promptly joked back, "No, it can't be."
While Sweeney couldn't dish out the details on her character's potential wedding, she hinted that she would "love to" spill the beans on the scene "next time when I [return to the show and] can reveal everything." Despite the secrecy, fans are speculating that Cassie's wedding could involve Jacob Elordi's character, Nate. The two-time Emmy nominee confirmed that in season three, "Cassie is crazy" and "even worse" than in previous seasons.
This isn't the first time Sweeney has revealed that her character, Cassie, would be "crazier" than ever. In an interview with "Empire" magazine, she enthused about her love for the role, describing season three of "Euphoria" as "unhinged." "I have a special place in my heart for Cassie; she's incredibly close and dear to me," Sweeney said. "She's crazy, makes numerous mistakes, and is flawed in many ways, but it all stems from a place of love—albeit a sometimes sad version of it." She added, "It's thrilling to portray a character as crazy as she is. Sam [Levinson] is such a genius filmmaker to work with. I'll read something, call him, and say, 'Let's go crazier!' And he's all in. This season is absolutely unhinged."
It's worth noting that "Euphoria" season two aired in early 2022. Production on the long-awaited third season commenced in January 2025, though the exact release date on the streaming platform remains uncertain. Even if season three arrives in January 2026, as rumored, there will have been a four-year gap between seasons, fueling the fans' eager anticipation for new episodes.
