The film, shot at the border of Bosnia and Croatia - a line that also demarcates the European Union - unfolds a harrowing tale of refugees fleeing from relentless police pursuits while traversing a landscape still ravaged by the mines left behind by the Bosnian War. This grueling journey serves as a poignant reminder of the struggles faced by those fleeing conflict and searching for safety.

Vögele's return to Visions du Réel marks a triumphant milestone. Her directorial journey began here in 2013, when she premiered her first short film, "Mrs Loosli." Her 2018 debut feature, "Closing," also received recognition at the Locarno Film Festival, winning the Special Jury Prize for Filmmakers of the Present. With "The Landscape and the Fury," she continues to showcase her remarkable talent and commitment to telling stories that matter.
