Travis Scott reveals release date for ‘Jackboys 2’

Published: Jul 11 2025

Travis Scott is officially resurrecting the iconic Jackboys crew. The rap visionary has confirmed that "Jackboys 2," the eagerly anticipated Cactus Jack compilation album, will make its grand entrance this Sunday, July 13th. After months of tantalizing hints, Scott unveiled the news across social media platforms with a flyer proclaiming, "The Jack is back, armed with 17 tracks poised to shake trunks and craft timeless classics." The album will be hosted by Texas rap legend Bun B, adding an air of authenticity and gravitas.

Scott first teased "Jackboys 2" during a lively performance in Miami back in March, followed by what seemed to be a Harmony Korine-directed teaser trailer in April. As the release date drew nearer, a slew of rumored collaborators, including Tyla, Waka Flocka Flame, 21 Savage, GloRilla, SoFaygo, SahBabii, Vybz Kartel, and Kodak Black, took to social media to share snapshots of themselves posing with custom Lamborghinis emblazoned with the "Jackboys 2" logo, fueling excitement among fans.

In anticipation of the album's drop, Scott recently premiered the music video for "2000 Excursion" on YouTube, further whetting fans' appetites. "Jackboys 2" serves as a sequel to the original Jackboys compilation from 2019, which showcased Cactus Jack signees such as Don Toliver and Sheck Wes. That groundbreaking project stormed to the top of the Billboard 200 chart and boasted hits like "Had Enough," "Out West" featuring Young Thug, and the remix of "Highest in the Room."

As anticipation for the sequel reaches a fever pitch, "Jackboys 2" arrives amidst the swirling tension sparked by a recent diss from Pusha T. In the latest Clipse single "Let God Sort Em Out," Pusha T unleashes pointed bars that seemingly take direct aim at Scott, rapping, "You cried in front of me, you died in front of me / Calabasas took your b— and your pride in front of me."

Reacting to the diss, Bun B recently shared his insights on Shannon Sharpe’s "Night Cap" podcast. "Pusha’s a dangerous man," he warned. "He’s willing to throw caution to the wind and say, ‘You know what? I don’t really fuck with him anyway.’" He explained that Pusha T operates under the radar in a realm where he has nothing to lose, adding an element of unpredictability to the mix.

However, Bun B doesn't anticipate Scott remaining silent. "That being said, Travis ain’t about to back down. He’s from Houston," he asserted, highlighting Scott's fiery spirit and unwavering resolve.
