In the fourth episode of 56 Days, set on Day 16, it's the weekend and Oliver returns from his therapy session. Ciara, wearing his shirt to explain her presence in his closet, is given permission to keep it. Oliver mentions offhandedly that the safe isn't his. He heads out for work, leaving his laptop behind. Ciara, with a mischievous grin, logs into his Swiss account and transfers 100k to the Narrow River Memorial Fund. Although the transfer will actually take around two weeks to complete, she celebrates her successful deed with a silent toast.

At present, we see that the St Ledgers have erased all media mentions of the murder. From rumors, the cops gather that Oliver murdered prep school student Paul Sparling and Shane Martin was arrested for it. They call the number in the letter to Oliver and the voicemail reveals that it is Jane Miller’s.
In the past, Jane takes Oliver’s photo at the gym. Ciara tells Shyla she got the money but she won’t be leaving yet as she has started to like her life.
In the present, the initial autopsy suggests that the dead body is a woman’s. Jane’s voicemail is full and the cops wonder if she is dead or just too busy to empty it. The local cops find a report for Jane’s vandalized Blue Fiat (the same car Oliver saw his redhead ex in). That’s not the only surprise as the car is in the Seaport garage because…she lives in Apartment 7!
In the past, Oliver finally spots Jane and calls the number from the letter. She picks up and he quickly hangs up, opting to follow her. He is shocked to learn that she lives in the same complex. She spots him and a chase ensues before she narrowly escapes. Frustrated, he trashes her car. On duty at that time, Kevin offers to delete the CCTV footage for money. Oliver also pays him to punch him.
At present, Karl catches onto Kevin when he finds the footage deleted. He pushes Kevin who gets defensive, suggesting he is the one who pulled the fire alarm. Meanwhile, Lee gets no answer from Jane’s apartment but refuses to go in without a warrant. The tension between the characters and their actions adds an edge of excitement to the story, making it more intriguing for viewers to follow along.
In the past, Ciara arrived at the firm, bearing lunch for Oliver. While waiting, she engaged in a lively chat with Elliot, attempting to inquire about Oliver's school days. However, Elliot was evasive and called Oliver to check his whereabouts.
Meanwhile, Oliver was at home, seething with frustration. He called Dan to vent about Jane. As Ciara returned home, they overheard the conversation. Dan suggested breaking up with Jane, but Ciara cut the call abruptly. Oliver lashed out at her for being so intrusive and meddlesome in his affairs. She claimed that she only wanted to get to know him better, but he dismissed her as insecure.
In the present, Karl's son, Aaron, showed up after being suspended for the day. His mother was out drinking, and Karl was annoyed with her. He told Lee that he wanted to quit the force because he couldn't balance it with his personal life. Lee confessed that she wasn't strong either. She finally revealed the truth about Linus.
Linus was a suspect in a shootout and seemed to have an alibi. He tried to bribe Lee not to dig too deep into the case. She refused but got busy with a triple homicide. As a thank-you gesture, he gifted her luxury items, which she kept. She only called him because he lived in Seaport too and wondered if he knew anything about Oliver. Karl was disappointed, and she broke into tears.
In the past, Oliver arrived at Jane's and threatened her when she revealed that she knew what he had done. At home, Ciara was looking at their photos. He came up to apologize, and they patched things up.
In the present, the cops obtained a warrant and entered Jane's apartment. No one was there, and the place was owned by the same person who owned Oliver's apartment - Elliot.
In the past, Ciara confessed to Oliver that she had tried to get into his safe. But she was just curious because she wanted to get to know him better. Midway through their conversation, Oliver passed out and had a nightmare of drowning while a man watched him.
