The episode begins with Ciara and Oliver enjoying their time over the next 16 days. On Day 32, it's St. Patrick's Day, and Ciara suggests celebrating by taking edibles from Dan's stash. Oliver is hesitant, as he only microdoses for his anxiety, but Ciara convinces him to get high.

Meanwhile, Lee and Karl seem to have reconciled as they bicker while investigating Jane's apartment. Her bedroom is full of research on Oliver St. Ledger.
Back to Day 32, Ciara and Oliver have a blast as they crash the parade. At the same time, Shyla gets a notification of 100 grand in her account.
On the present day, Jane comes home, and the new murder victim theory falls flat. The cops question her, and she reveals that she's a reporter doing a story on Oliver. She was provoking him so she could then reel him in with the idea of him controlling the narrative with an exclusive interview. She also knows that Ciara is a con artist and thinks Oliver killed her after she found out his secret. Jane even suspects Oliver for Alison's death.
Karl sneaks away as Russo calls for an update on Linus Finch. Karl lies and covers for Lee. While chatting with her, Karl finds blueprints of Oliver's apartment and a photo of the bathtub. It's revealed that Jane is the masked man!
On Day 32, an extremely stoned Ciara and Oliver run into Elliot, who is out with Jane and Alison. Turns out, Jane saved Elliot from a bad deal and is staying in his spare apartment for a story. Oliver panics and tells Elliot that Jane is out to get him. Elliot thinks he should tell Ciara so Jane loses her leverage, but Oliver is scared as his ex ran off after learning his secret.
As the tension thickens, Alison and Jane attempt to warn Ciara, who confidently claims to know everything. Observing her unperturbed demeanor, Jane urges Ciara to convince Oliver to an interview. Just then, Shyla calls, and Ciara rushes off to the bathroom.
Oliver misunderstands and panics, while Elliot tries to comfort him. He promises to get Jane to back off and holds Oliver. Oliver, believing Elliot has romantic intentions towards him, this time, Elliot is the one who panics and runs off.
Elliot confronts his wife, who reveals that Jane was in a career slump and so she advised Jane to target Oliver. Alison is uncomfortable with Oliver and accuses Elliot of protecting him due to his feelings for Caspar, Oliver's father. We also learn that Oliver is his godson.
In the bathroom, Jane eavesdrops as Shyla demands answers and Ciara hints that she may be falling for Oliver. Shyla is disgusted that she is protecting Oliver and hangs up. Jane barges in and threatens to report Ciara unless she gives her a fake interview of being Oliver's victim. In return, Ciara chokes her and warns her to stay away.
Ciara finds Oliver having a panic attack and helps him breathe by closing his eyes and playing brown noise. When he can’t see or hear her, she tells the truth. It seems that she was somehow involved in the Narrow River murder. But now she believes that she would have understood him and wishes he had trusted her with the truth. She confesses that she could have loved him. When he opens his eyes, she's gone. He is looking for her when he runs into Alison. She lashes out at him, hating that he and his father took advantage of Elliot's generosity. He retorts that she is jealous and she storms off. He chases her until a truck runs her over.
Ciara goes home and starts packing. She messages Shyla who ignores her as she is on her way to Boston.
In the present day, Jane is arrested for B&E. Karl also reveals that he lied for Lee and she is touched. The actual autopsy begins but it will take a week. Karl begs for some answers and the coroner reveals that the body might be male. Elsewhere, Lee drives off with Linus.
In the past, as Ciara is leaving, Oliver arrives home and agrees to come clean.
