In the 8th episode of "56 Days," a dramatic tale unfolds 137 days in the past. Kristi and Shyla are plagued with anxiety over their house being repossessed by the bank, while Ciara, consumed by her obsession, stalks Oliver online. Through Shane's yearbook, she discovers his fascination with NASA and outer space, leading her to follow him in person and eventually relocate to Boston. There, she sets up a false persona and encounters him at a grocery store.

Fast forward to the present, Lee discovers that Linus has attacked her, leaving her fearful that he'll kill her for rejecting him. Karl is worried about her wellbeing.
The question arises: whose dead body is found in the bathtub? On Day 34, Ciara and Oliver embark on a new beginning, reminiscing about their past. Dan's arrival throws a wrench into their reunion, as he attempts to manipulate Oliver into leaving Ciara. However, Oliver eventually realizes Dan's manipulative tactics and tries to end their partnership. But Dan threatens to expose Oliver's secret, still possessing the letter Oliver wrote to Shane, confessing to Paul's murder. Dan demands money for his silence, but Ciara, overhearing everything, strikes him with a statue, causing him to bleed to death.
Ciara calls Shyla, who suggests dissolving Dan's body to delay the police identification. They stage the crime scene to mislead the cops, which is why they find Ciara's earring in the bathtub.
Oliver almost turns himself in for Dan's murder to give Ciara her life back, but Elliot advises against it, reminding him that it's not what Ciara would want. After a tense moment, Oliver changes his mind and reunites with Ciara.
The story is a rollercoaster of emotions, filled with suspense, betrayal, and ultimately redemption. Each character's actions and motivations drive the plot forward, leaving viewers on the edge of their seats until the very end.
Do the police ever uncover the truth? Presently, the autopsy reveals that the victim died from blunt force trauma to the head. And that he died a few weeks ago, not on Day 56. DNA identifies him as Dan Troxler, a man with a criminal record for smuggling drugs and practicing without a license. His car has been impounded since the 18th. The police suspect that Ciara and Oliver were responsible for his death. Their theory is further confirmed when Kevin and Karl review the CCTV footage and find Dan in the elevator to Apartment 11 on the 18th. One can assume that Karl later saw the CCTV footage of Ciara and Oliver leaving with their suitcase.
Later, Karl and Lee discuss who administered the killing blow, and Lee believes it was Ciara because she didn't want to lose Oliver. What happens to Linus Finch? Even Russo is worried about the attack, and Lee finally tells her the truth about Linus. However, Russo covers for Lee. Karl comforts Lee, having forgiven her but wanting to know why she got involved with Linus in the first place. She explains that she was fed up with herself, and he can relate. He also shows her the necklace that belongs to Linus and reveals that he has a plan.
While Karl and Kevin review the CCTV footage, they talk about their dreams. Kevin and Lee always wanted to be cops, while Karl never had an interest in it. He only became one because he hung out with the right crowd. With the incentive of making Kevin an informant, Karl asks him to help with Linus.
Lee and Karl have a plan to take down Linus - they decide to frame him for Dan's murder so that he cannot terrorize Lee anymore. They first spread the idea that Linus was Dan's dealer. And because of their connection, Lee and Karl are taken off the case. A while later, the new detective on the case finds "evidence" which is Linus' necklace. Following this, Linus is arrested for Dan's murder.
How does the show end? Ciara sends her mom some money and a letter. She hopes Kristi can forgive her for her actions. She thinks fate is on her side because of what she suffered as a kid. And she's glad that she and Oliver could look past their secrets so they could be together. She adds that some people are meant to be together. It cuts to Karl and Lee still working together on the force. Oliver and Ciara have a kid named Shane, and they live by the beach.
