All Her Fault – Season 1 Episode 6 1

Alcaras and Greco, the investigators, assure Peter and Marissa that Milo's medical examination reveals no harm done. They request permission to speak with Milo, hoping he might hold the key to Carrie's whereabouts. However, Milo's innocent mind can only muster the memory of a bowl of Fruit Loops for breakfast, courtesy of Carrie. He has no clue who drove him to the park that fateful night, only recalling the speed of the car as it raced through the night.

As Marissa questions why the kidnappers chose to release Milo, Alcaras shakes his head, unenlightened by answers. Leaving the police station, the family is besieged by an army of journalists, their questions relentless. Peter and Marissa shield Milo, using his safe return as a shield to avoid apologizing to their siblings and Colin. Instead, he implores them to cherish their family bond, asking Marissa to let go of their recent disagreements. Marissa's mind races with the fear that Carrie might return for Milo, ready to face any challenge that comes her way.

Meanwhile, Alcaras and Greco venture to the park where Milo was found, Alcaras' mind racing with ideas as he decides to canvas the nearby motels. The next morning, Marissa helps Milo get ready for the day, her eyes filled with concern as she inquires about his hairdo. He replies with a smile, telling her that he and Carrie were engaged in a game of dress-up. When she presses him on Carrie's treatment of him, Milo beams, proudly stating that Carrie played all the games with him, their bond unbroken even in the face of adversity.

On the flip side, Jenny breathes a sigh of relief upon reading the news of Milo's return. Richie, on the other hand, feels relieved solely because he believes it spares Jenny from the fallout of hiring Carrie. Jenny clarifies her genuine friendship with Marissa, her words laden with sincerity.

At Marissa's abode, Milo's temper flares when she refuses to dish out Fruit Loops for breakfast. Marissa confides in Peter her mounting anxiety, fearing Carrie's imminent return. Peter insists on bolstering their security, and Marissa decides they must retrieve their old baby monitor.

The detectives return to present Milo with a series of motel pictures, hoping he can identify the one he stayed at. After perusing a few images, Milo spots the right one. Alcaras inquires if they paid the ransom, which would provide a plausible explanation for Milo's return. However, Marissa asserts they never paid or even received a ransom call.

Later, Jenny and Jacob pay a visit to Marissa and Milo. Marissa confides her fears to Jenny while assuring her of their true friendship. Unfortunately, the boys commence a heated debate over who Carrie loved more. Jenny is compelled to step aside, granting Marissa and Milo some much-needed space.

The police pay a visit to the motel Milo identified and discover a man's lifeless body along with a birthday cake. They ponder the deceased's connection to Carrie and the motive behind procuring a birthday cake for Milo.

Alcaras calls Marissa to inform her of the gruesome discovery, causing her to panic further as the police suspect Carrie in two murders. She feels as though Carrie is watching over them, but Peter soothes her before entering Milo's room for the night.

On Monday, as Jenny escorts Jacob to school, she receives a call from Alex. Apparently, Lee desires a meeting in the afternoon to discuss their strategy. Cornered, Jenny is compelled to seek assistance from Sarah.

Sarah agrees to supervise Jacob after school on the condition that Jenny considers volunteering for the school fundraiser, offering her a hand in navigating this unsettling situation with a bit of goodwill towards her community.

Elsewhere, at the Irvines' abode, Peter fortifies the house with additional security cameras and alarms, his heart heavy with remorse. He attempts to mend fences with Brian, extending an apologetic hand. However, Brian remains incensed by Peter's actions, and Peter, instead of taking full responsibility, offers more excuses, claiming he acted out of love and cannot fathom life without his siblings. Brian is touched by Peter's words and promises to text Lia and invite her over.

Meanwhile, Lia is at Colin's house, her heart still not quite ready to forgive Peter but eager to see Milo. She agrees to drop by and as they talk, Colin confesses his love for her.

Marissa spends the afternoon searching for the old baby monitor, stumbling upon a bag full of money amid Peter's belongings. She confronts him, and he finally spills the beans about the ransom call. But he clarifies that the caller never made contact again, so he never paid it. Marissa is infuriated that he kept such a significant secret from her, listing all the potential misfortunes that could have ensued. Peter, however, defends his decision, saying he did it to protect his family.

As they argue, Alcaras calls to inform Marissa about the dead man they found in the motel. It turns out to be a bookie named Rob Murphy. The detectives want to know if Marissa is familiar with him, but she isn't. Alcaras senses something amiss and asks about it. Peter stands close by, muttering and begging Marissa not to tell the police about the money or the ransom call. In the end, Marissa lies and says everything is fine.

Back to Jenny, her meeting with Lee is interrupted by a text from Sarah claiming one of her kids is ill. Sarah asks Jenny to pick up Jacob. When Jenny arrives, Sarah mentions seeing Richie relaxing at the park, insinuating that Jenny and Richie might be having problems and that she is a bad mom. Jenny lashes out at Sarah, defending Richie and ending her rant by telling her she will never help with the fundraiser. Before heading home, Jenny checks the park and finds Richie scrolling on his phone, eating chips in his car with no concern in the world.

She confronts him, and he has the audacity to claim he did it to give her more time with their son. She's had enough and shares how difficult he has made her life. He never wants to step up on the home front and resents that she has a job she loves. Richie acts as if this is entirely new to him, even though she's asked for his help numerous times. Fed up, Jenny asks him for a divorce.

Back to the case, the detectives track down Rob's ex-wife in South Shore, the same neighbourhood where Carrie and Kyle hailed from. They realize that Rob's ex-wife is the woman they met before outside the company. This time, they force her to cooperate, and they quickly learn that Rob is Carrie's father.

Back at Marissa's abode, she delves into the company's files following her last heart-to-heart with Alcaras. Her mind races with worry, for she fears that Colin might have been acquainted with Rob since his days as a bookie. Her concerns escalate when she discovers suspicious activities in their clients' accounts, prompting her to confide in Peter that Colin could be tangled up in Milo's kidnapping. Peter promptly reaches out to Lia, but alas, she and Colin have already arrived at their doorstep. As Lia opens the door, the new alarms go off, but thankfully, Brian deactivates them in the nick of time.

Marissa confronts Colin, and he reveals his gambling relapse with a candor that belies his actions. He pledges to sell his house to cover the funds. Marissa doesn't spare any punches, pressing him on whether he knew Rob and why he never informed the police about the Easter visit from his bookie.

As their argument heats up, Carrie slinks inside the house, making her way to the living room unnoticed. At the same moment, Alcaras calls Peter inquiring about Josephine Murphy. Peter turns to see Carrie, brandishing a gun, and promptly hangs up before Alcaras could receive a response.
