The episode kicks off with Amanda (Lucy Punch), imparting words of wisdom to her children about the importance of people skills as she drops them off at their new school. Once her little ones are settled, Amanda catches sight of Anne Flynn (Phillippa Dunne) also bidding farewell to her son and decides to give her a lift. Anne is taken aback to see Amanda back in South Harlesden, to which Amanda responds by revealing her exit from Chiswick. She further shares her relief at taking her kids out of private school, believing it will enhance their chances of gaining admission to Oxford. Anne expresses her delight in hearing from Amanda, confessing she had been concerned about her since her divorce.
As their conversation deepens, Amanda discovers that Della Fry (Siobhan McSweeney), a parent at the new school, owns a restaurant named Shin. Intrigued, Amanda inquires about Anne's relationship with Della, who reveals they occasionally cross paths at football games but Della tends to keep to herself. This revelation prompts Amanda to learn that football is a popular activity among the school's students. Following this insight, Amanda unintentionally drops Anne off far from the station.
Returning home, Amanda encounters Mal (Samuel Anderson), who demands she move her car as it's blocking him in. Soon after, Felicity Sanderson (Joanna Lumley) arrives with food but doesn't linger long as Amanda, Georgie (Miley Locke), and Manus (Alexander Shaw) are rushing to football practice.
At football practice, Anne and JJ (Ekow Quartey) tease Mal about his short shorts. JJ joins in after dropping off Mal's son from a visit with his mother. Just then, Amanda arrives on the scene. Anne extends an invitation to both Amanda and Mal for drinks later that evening, but Mal politely declines. Amanda, however, accepts. On her way to engage with Della, Amanda is accidentally hit in the head with a soccer ball. Although Della and Fi (Rochenda Sandall) come to her aid, their conversation is cut short as their daughter, shivering from the cold, insists on leaving.
Later that evening, Amanda returns home to find Felicity occupying her bed. Their discussion is brevity itself as Mal reappears at the door, once again informing Amanda that she's blocking him in. It's at this moment that Amanda learns that Ned (Archie Smith), Mal's son, has received an invitation to a party at Morten Fry's (Anya McKenna-Bruce) house, adding another layer to the evening's unfolding drama.
Amanda arrives at the Fry residence, her arms adorned with a bouquet of flowers, only to have Fi summarily discard the lilies upon learning that Della detests them. Inside, Amanda attempts to ingratiate herself with Della, yet her efforts falter miserably. Matters worsen when Della lambasts Fi for offering Amanda a drink, prompting Fi to whisper that Amanda might be feeling lonely. Amanda is left nearly tongue-tied when Morten strolls into the kitchen and helps himself to a bottle of wine. Instead of scolding him, Della offers Amanda advice, cautioning her against pairing red wine with Prosecco and presenting her with a hearty white instead.
Once the culinary preparations are concluded, Fi extends an invitation to Amanda for a soothing dip in the hot tub. Meanwhile, Anne bids farewell to the fellow football moms, suggesting they catch up with Amanda on another occasion. As Mal turns up at the restaurant where Anne dining, Anne receives a call from Amanda, who feigns illness to avoid a drink-up. In the hot tub, amidst the company of Fi and Della, Amanda is offered magic mushrooms, which she pretends to consume.
Elsewhere, Manus and Felicity are at home when Joy (Liz Sutherland Lim) unexpectedly drops by. Felicity hastily instructs Manus to plunge the house into darkness, feigning their absence. By this juncture, Fi and Della are visibly intoxicated, and the children's voices escalate in volume. Amanda excuses herself to the bathroom, sneaking out to investigate the children's antics. She discovers them partying and urges Georgie to depart. Additionally, she finds Anne's son, Darius (Jack Veal), vomiting in the restroom, prompting Georgie to call Anne and inform her of the situation. Anne, still with Mal, receives the call and promptly rings Amanda, who reveals her presence at the party.
As Amanda bids adieu to Della and Fi, a contingent of parents arrives. She manages to slip away unnoticed to her car, only to find it critically low on charge at 2%. Desperate, she attempts to juice it up, but Anne and Mal appear on the scene. A heated altercation ensues between Della and Anne, the latter learning that Della permits underage drinking. Amidst the fray, Mal notices Amanda's desperate attempt to charge her car, ultimately leading Anne to realize Amanda's deception about her whereabouts.
Despite the chaos, Anne and Mal offer Amanda and Georgie a lift home. Upon returning, Amanda inadvertently lets Joy in, revealing Felicity's presence. The episode concludes on this intriguing note.
