Bait – Season 1 Episode 3 1

Shah and Felicia engage in a heated argument, with Shah justifying his actions by claiming that Sid, the injured protestor, was about to attack him with a metal weapon. Felicia is unsympathetic and demands a heartfelt apology video. Reluctantly, Shah complies, swiftly filming himself in the sweet shop before accompanying his mother to Naila's residence.

The gathering is a chaotic affair, with some scolding Shah for injuring Sid's arm, uncles teasing Parvez for being the eldest in their community, Zulfi avoiding Shah, and Tahira lying to guests about her intentions in co-hosting the event with Naila. The uncles also watch an Urdu news channel that speculates about Shah's potential military connections.

Felicia once again confronts Shah for not delivering a sincere apology in his video. She urges him to tone down his Brown identity, prompting him to record another passive-aggressive video in the living room. Despite his efforts to reconcile with Zulfi, Shah is constantly distracted by his mother, who needs his support. The situation escalates further when Naila's son, Salim, returns from Dubai with a Bollywood-inspired entrance. While everyone fawns over him, Tahira and Shah give him hostile glances. Zulfi attempts to pitch his taxi business to Salim, which makes Shah feel envious and jealous. His rambling speech accidentally insults both Salim and Zulfi, even mentioning Zulfi's criminal past, causing an uncomfortable silence.

Shah receives another scolding call from Felicia for his insincere apology and the lavish display at Naila's house. He also gets angry at Yasmin for her article and tries to text her, only to find that she has blocked him. As he panics in the garden, Tahira and Naila observe him. Naila suggests a therapist for him and brings up Tahira's sister, Ruqayya, who was apparently in a dire situation due to her mental health. Tahira becomes defensive and insists that everything is under control.

As Shah endeavors to secure a modest room for filming his third apology video, a task fraught with challenges as every available space exudes extravagance, he unexpectedly encounters Salim and Q engaged in flirtatious banter. To deflect attention and send Shah away, Q downplays their relationship, prompting Salim's displeasure. Shah attempts to mediate, only to inadvertently inquire if Yasmin has blocked him.

It's time for prayer, and the uncles engage in a heated debate over who should lead the ritual since Parvez cannot stand for prolonged periods. He ultimately cuts through the chaos and declares his intention to lead the prayers. As the guests bow their heads in devotion, Shah's eyes fixate on Yasmin's article, which mockingly criticizes him for appeasing the oppressor in the guise of liberating his community. Enraged by Yasmin's words, the internet's reach, and Sid's involvement, he is left unable to record the video.

Finally, Shah comes to terms with his overreaction and calls Sid to offer a heartfelt apology. Sid is touched, and their conversation seems promising until Sid requests Shah to send him the same apology as a video for social media engagement. Frustrated, Shah hurls his phone across the room.

Downstairs, Parvez collapses, and Shah rushes to his aid. He reprimands Zulfi for not keeping a closer eye on Parvez, seemingly choosing the wrong words. This triggers Zulfi's anger, who accuses Shah of being self-obsessed and only appearing at the end to play the hero. The situation escalates into a full-blown argument, with Shah revealing that Salim's visit isn't about Zulfi's investment but his sister's marriage prospects. Q joins in on the anger, and as Zulfi continues to berate him, even Parvez chides Shah for causing a scene.

Overwhelmed by the backlash, Shah vents his frustration, claiming Tahira blames Zulfi for his mother's fate. This statement earns him a slap from Tahira and a swift exit from the premises.
