Bodkin – Season 1 Episode 4 1

Not surprisingly, Sean has vanished again, leaving the trio stranded and in need of a ride. Fortunately, Emmy realizes that she had left her phone in his car, allowing her to track its location. Following the signal, the trio finds themselves at an unfamiliar locale, a warehouse looming in the distance. Outside, a group of children are joyfully firing air guns at the sky, while Seamus is engaged in a conversation with two mysterious men in Spanish.

As the men depart, Sean confides in Seamus about the bodies, a revelation that leaves Seamus startled. It transpires that the guns the children are playing with are merely air guns, intended to scare away seagulls. Seamus laments that they should have used "poison or something" to get rid of the pesky birds, a comment that aptly sums up the episode's quirky and unexpected turn of events.

Bodkin – Season 1 Episode 4 2

As Sean and Seamus departed, Gilbert, Dove, and Emmy snuck stealthily into the warehouse, their hearts thumping with excitement. Inside, they stumbled upon an array of tanks, each filled to the brim with crystal-clear water. Dove, her curiosity getting the better of her, edged closer for a peek and suddenly lost her footing, plummeting into one of the tanks. When she emerged, she was a sight to behold, with eels slithering across her body like a living, squirming blanket.

Suddenly, two figures appeared on the scene, guns trained on the startled trio. Dove's eyes widened as she recognized them as the perpetrators of the hit-and-run that nearly cost her her life. The man introduced themselves as agents from Interpol, belonging to the Wildlife Crimes and Environmental Action Group. The revelation left the podcasters bewildered and apprehensive.

The agents revealed that Bodkin was at the helm of a vast eel smuggling operation they were desperately trying to dismantle. They sternly warned Gilbert, Dove, and Emmy to refrain from discussing the matter on their podcast, their voices filled with menace. Their ultimate goal was to bust Seamus for his involvement in the illegal trade.

Back at the hotel, Dove enthused about the eel smuggling angle as a captivating new chapter for their podcast. Gilbert, however, was less than thrilled. He didn't want to get mixed up in any trouble and firmly rejected the idea, reminding Dove and Emmy that it was his podcast and he wouldn't have it compromised.

Frank's sudden arrival only added to the tension. He informed Gilbert that the time for payment had arrived and, without further ado, abducted him. After a tense drive, Frank relented and let him go, but with a stark ultimatum: Gilbert had 24 hours to secure the money. With no clear path forward, Gilbert was at a loss.

Meanwhile, Dove and Emmy searched frantically for Gilbert, but their efforts were in vain. Dove, however, was undeterred. She insisted that they continue their pursuit of Seamus, despite Gilbert's wishes for them to abandon the chase. She reasoned that they needed to prove Seamus' guilt in the murders of Malachy and Fiona without alerting Interpol to their investigation. And she had a plan. She pulled out the newspaper clipping with the photo and pointed out a familiar face among the crowd - Sergeant Power.
