In the second episode of "Can This Love Be Translated," Ho-jin returns to South Korea after a three-month absence. As his driver brings up the topic of celebrities, Ho-jin's mind drifts back to Mu-hee. He follows her on Instagram, becoming her 10,000th follower, and sends her a message. Meanwhile, Mu-hee falls on set and gets injured.

Present-day, Mu-hee is a guest on a German talk show. It's been a few weeks since she woke up, and she still can't believe her luck. Her Instagram now has over 10 million followers! Suddenly, she sees Do Ra-mi in the mirror instead of her own reflection.
Ho-jin arrives home to a massive house that belonged to his grandfather, where Mr. Kim invites his guests to stay and make themselves comfortable. Apparently, Mr. Kim was a good friend of Ho-jin's grandfather. Ho-jin asks Mr. Kim to tell his mother to take all her things from the house so he can put it on the market.
Over time, people begin to recognize Ho-jin in one of Mu-hee's pictures on Instagram. Elsewhere, Mu-hee learns that Vogue Singapore will be interviewing her, and her team has hired an interpreter for the same. The interpreter is none other than Ho-jin, and she is pleasantly surprised to see him. During the interview, the question about the man in her Instagram photo comes up. She says he's just someone who helped her with directions but admits the thought of meeting a kind stranger is charming.
Afterwards, Ho-jin asks to speak with Mu-hee and tells her he intentionally took this gig because he wanted to ask her something. But her schedule is packed, and he ends up waiting through her next event, a talk show. While Mu-hee is in the makeup room with her assistant, Ho-jin overhears her talking about how she keeps thinking about her memories with Ho-jin in Japan.
Ho-jin watches the talk show and seems enamored by her. Afterwards, she goes on a walk with him and suggests they have dinner to make up for the meal they never got to have. Ho-jin agrees but makes it clear he wants to keep things short. He then directly asks her to take down the picture she posted of him since it's leading to misunderstandings. Mu-hee says that deleting the photo could lead to even more rumors and speculation. Ho-jin reveals that he doesn't want Ji-seon to know he went there on her birthday. Mu-hee is surprised to learn he never went to see Ji-seon.
After a delightful dinner, Ho-jin confides to Mu-hee that he'll be reaching out to her manager, Yong-u, to make a decision about the Instagram post. On the way back, Yong-u reveals to Mu-hee that Ho-jin had even visited her in the hospital when she was in a coma, long before the movie's success and her sudden fame. Mu-hee's curiosity about Ji-seon soon piques, and she tries to uncover who she is.
Ho-jin returns home and gazes at a charm in one of his drawers. He recalls their meeting in Japan and how Ji-seon bought charms for them, hoping they'd find each other again someday. But the next time he saw her was when his friend Jin-suk introduced Ji-seon as his girlfriend. He promptly messages Yong-u, requesting the photo's deletion. Mu-hee complies with his request. While reading Yong-u's phone messages, Mu-hee discovers that Ho-jin had been checking up on her health while she was in the hospital.
In her van, Mu-hee calls Ho-jin to thank him for visiting her in the hospital. At the same time, Yong-u discovers Ji-seon's identity - a producer he seems to know - and exclaims loudly. Unfortunately, Ho-jin overhears this on the phone and becomes upset. Mu-hee drives to his place to apologize for her curiosity in person. Since she admits her curiosity, Ho-jin invites her inside to satisfy it and ensure she doesn't get involved again.
Ho-jin explains how he met Ji-seon on a trip but didn't see her again until she started dating Jin-suk. Mu-hee asks him if things between them would be different if they had actually gone to dinner that day. He says no, as he continues to visit the island on Ji-seon's birthday each year and still holds feelings for her. Mu-hee brushes it off and says she was just making it clear that he doesn't have feelings for her. Ho-jin agrees and suggests they shouldn't meet again, though he'll be cheering her on from a distance.
The scene skips to a film festival in Tokyo. Mu-hee is walking the red carpet when she suddenly has a vision of Do Ra-mi, who pushes her. Mu-hee has a vision of falling down a dark hole when she suddenly wakes up to find that a Japanese actor caught her on the red carpet. The scene causes quite an uproar among the reporters.
After a work assignment, Ho-jin returns to his hotel room to find Mu-hee crouched outside it. She's in tears and tells him that her festival (a running metaphor between them, signifying her recent good fortune) is coming to an end.
