Deadloch – Season 1 Episode 7

Published: Mar 24 2026

In episode 7 of Deadloch, Detective Redcliffe makes a startling announcement: it is the sixth corpse they have encountered in the water. James, a forensic expert, adds that the tongue and throat of these corpses are strikingly similar to those of the other bodies discovered in recent weeks, suggesting that the men had only been dead for over 48 hours. Redcliffe and Dulcie find this hard to believe, but James insists that the breakdown of the corpses proves they haven't actually been murdered for that long. Kate, who Dulcie enlists as a second opinion, counters that the corpses may have been frozen for years before they died.

Dulcie realizes that Skye did not kill Jeff Haddock after hanging up with the commissioner, given that she was living in London for three years prior to Jeff's murder. Dulcie explains that they were together when Jeff died because she, along with Cath, met with Skye in London.

Victoria O'Dwyer is brought in for questioning by Dulcie and Redcliffe shortly after they come across new evidence that shows Sam assaulted her. Victoria confesses to murdering Sam O'Dwyer while she's at the police station, yet her confession doesn't match up with how he passed away. In light of this, Dulcie and Redcliffe ask everybody else where they were that evening.

The pubic hair test comes back negative for Skye O'Dwyer but matches a different person. Shortly after some investigation by Kate, they realize that the match comes from a teenager. Dulcie figures out that Sam O'Dwyer was involved in a relationship with Vanessa when she was 15 and is the biological father of Dolph.

By setting up an urgent meeting and appointing himself interim mayor, Phil McGangus takes matters into his own hands. He boards a bus and hides every guy over seventeen years of age until the murderer is caught. The commissioner has stepped into the action and announced to Dulcie and Redcliffe that he will be handling the case.

In the setting where they discovered the corpses, Abby uncovers additional proof. Victoria's footwear is found in a vehicle that was submerged in the water. The vehicle's VIN is checked, and it turns out that it belongs to William Caruthers, who can be seen on the bus as it leaves town.
