The second season of Delhi Crime commences with DCP Vartika Jha unveiling a sobering truth: that one-third of Delhi's population dwells in the slums, serving the elite, making it an arduous task to maintain law and order in the city. She adds that the police force is understaffed, and officers are divided between catering to the wealthy and the marginalized.

The scene shifts to a rainy night, where senior citizens in an affluent house in Delhi have imbibed a few drinks and are about to crash for the night. Suddenly, some goons break into the house, their movements captured on CCTV footage as they launch a brutal attack, smashing the faces of the elderly couple.
At the Delhi Police Headquarters, Officer Bhupendra Singh chats with a fellow officer about his long-standing dream of finding his daughter a suitable match when he receives a call alerting him to the crime. Officer Neeti Singh, now married, also receives the alert, while DCP Vartika is at her home discussing the state of crime in Delhi with her husband. As she receives the alert, Vartika reaches out to her daughter, Chandni, who is studying in Toronto.
Chandni argues with her mother as Vartika receives the news of the crime. All three inspectors rush to the crime scene, a multiple murder case. DCP Vartika is briefed by SHO Shubash Gupta, who informs her that the victims, Rakesh and Romila Arora, were retired doctors from a reputable hospital in Delhi. The other two victims were friends of the elderly couple who were also brutally murdered.
As they investigate the scene, the police discover that aside from the theft, the couple was also brutally murdered. Vartika tasks Bhupendra with examining the CCTV footage while she inspects the other bodies. The victim's daughter arrives at the scene of the crime and inquires about the commotion. Vartika and Bhupendra, who are investigating the other bodies, notice oil on the victims. Vartika speaks with the daughter of the victim's daughter and informs her of the tragic incident.
As the forensic experts arrived on the scene of the crime, the daughter's tears fell like raindrops, begging to be let in. Vartika, unyielding, prevented her from entering the gruesome sight, leading her away with a gentle yet firm hand. Neeti, arriving late, was assigned by Vartika to tend to the victim's daughter and grandson, her task adding to the weight of the sorrowful day.
Vartika's questions to the maid were sharp, probing the mystery of the food left untouched on the dinner table. The maid, with a mix of confusion and defensiveness, claimed to have cleared everything herself and had no knowledge of who had arranged it. She also mentioned that the couple had consumed White Wine before retiring for the night.
As the maid left, Bhupendra made a chilling observation, stating that the crime followed the same pattern as an ancient criminal gang from the rural tribes of the city. Vartika, with a solemn promise, told the daughter that she could take her parents' bodies to the morgue, assuring her that justice would be served soon.
The officer also advised the daughter to avoid seeing her parents' faces due to their gruesome injuries. Jairaj, reviewing CCTV footage, was shocked to discover that there had been a group of criminals involved. The entire murder was captured on camera, and Bhupendra accused the 'Kaccha-Baniyan' gang of being behind it.
Shubash, with a memory from his youth, recalled how this criminal gang had terrorized the entire city. Vartika, however, reminded them that the gang was only active until the 90s and urged the officers to be vigilant and increase security for senior citizens living alone. She warned the team against leaking information outside their circle and urged them to get to work with a sense of urgency.
As she made her way back, Neeti found herself reliving the gruesome incident with CP Kumar Vijay. He cautiously warned her to keep the crime under wraps, lest it spill into the public eye. Back at home, Neeti and her husband Devender discussed the heinous crime over dinner, their conversation laced with the anticipation of their upcoming holiday. However, Neeti's hospital visit, unbeknownst to her husband, cast a dark cloud over their plans.
Vartika, too, was back home, her mind still reeling from the case. She confided in her husband, her voice laden with concern. The former inspector revealed how he had once grappled with one of the gang's cases in the past, but Vartika couldn't shake off the feeling that it was the same group and voiced her concerns to her husband.
The next day, the victim's daughter was led to the crime scene to enumerate the missing items and jewelry, a crucial step in their quest for justice. The police learned that the murderers had stolen a family heirloom that Mrs. Arora wore around her neck. Vartika briefed her team on the Kaccha-Baniyan gang and their past criminal activities. She informed them that the culprits had used hammers and iron rods to brutally assault their victims and often smeared oil all over their bodies to evade capture.
But the media had already received the CCTV footage from the scene of the crime, and Vartika was shocked to see it being used to fuel a storm of speculation and blame against the police. The media tried to cause chaos among citizens, and Vartika received a call from CP Vijay, informing her that even the Home Minister of India was concerned about the issue.
CP Vijay asked Vartika to seek help from a retired officer, Viren Chaddha, who had dealt with the gang in the past. She tasked Jairaj and Bhupendra with talking to Viren and getting him on board. Viren lived a life of luxury in a big house that didn't quite fit the image of a government official. He still complained about not receiving his pension from the Delhi Police, which only irked the two officers further.
Despite this, they tried to convince him to work on the case with them, but he demanded his pension be granted to him first. Bhupendra called Vartika to inform her of his conversation with Viren, promising him his retirement funds once he joined hands with the police force.
That night, the Delhi Police Control Room received a threatening call from the Kaccha-Baniyan gang itself, alerting Vartika and leaving her fuming with anger. Just then, Bhupendra called to inform her that there had been a second murder with the same modus operandi.
