As the third episode of Emily in Paris Season 5 unfolds, we find Emily and Marcello entwined in bed, their intimacy interrupted by Marcello's sudden departure, buck naked, downstairs without realizing Mindy is bunking with them. His inadvertent flash to Mindy leaves him embarrassed, and she decides it's time to move out, booking a room at the same hotel as Alfie.
On the other side of the spectrum, Luc is chatting with a tourist couple about his clever trick to save money by living in a convent. Meanwhile, at the Agence Grateau office, Giancarlo presents his short film pitch to the Muratoris, only to be interrupted by Sylvie who takes over and delivers it herself. Antonia approves the idea, but Marcello suggests a more modern location for filming, which Emily endorses. Giancarlo promises to deliver a short film that they will love. In private, Sylvie confides in Emily that she's holding back their business due to her personal feelings for Marcello.
Mindy struggles at dance practice for her first performance on Bailando! Bailando! Bailando!, frustrated with her choreographer, she texts Alfie for a meeting. Back at the Agence Grateau office, Sylvie admonishes her team for their recent failed attempts to secure clients.
Just then, Gianni brings up a new potential client, Intimissimi, a lingerie brand. Luc offers to take the lead on the project, but Sylvie asks Emily to handle it instead, wanting her to prove herself after what happened with Fendi.
Alfie helps Mindy rehearse for her performance, and despite her hesitation, she executes the final lift perfectly. Exhilarated by her achievement, she kisses Alfie. That evening, Emily tries on the lingerie and contemplates ways to promote it. Marcello offers a few suggestions but the conversation soon shifts to their personal issues with Antonia and Sylvie respectively. Emily admits that she has similar issues but not with her parents but with Sylvie. Marcello and Emily decide to put their worries about Antonia and Sylvie aside as they make out. Emily suddenly gets an idea for the marketing pitch.
The next day, Emily suggests that Intimissimi use the tagline "Sexier than naked" to promote their lingerie, explaining that the lingerie is so good that people would never want to take it off. The Intimissimi team rejects the idea, leaving Emily dejected. Back at the Agence Grateau office, Julien, Luc, and Emily discuss the lingerie campaign with renewed energy and creativity.
Luc, misinterpreting the situation, carelessly suggests that Emily's strained family relationships are the root of her intimacy issues. The comment stings Emily, who reflects on the comment's impact. Meanwhile, during the short film shoot, Giancarlo is displeased when Sylvie attempts to interfere in his filming of the advertisement.
As the evening progresses, Luc gifts lingerie to Bianca and they make plans to meet at the convent that night for a rendezvous. Meanwhile, Antonia and Sylvie discuss Antonia's late husband, Umberto. Sylvie decides to appease the client and pitches an alternate ending to Giancarlo, who accuses her of disregarding his idea and storms off the set. With Giancarlo gone, Sylvie is forced to direct the film herself.
Elsewhere, Marcello and Emily are at the Bailando! Bailando! Bailando! set to cheer Mindy on. Mindy tells Emily that she is nervous and asks her to spray glue on her to avoid slipping. Emily admits that she is perceived as having intimacy issues, and Mindy agrees. Emily grows anxious about her relationship, but Mindy is too nervous about her performance to talk and asks to discuss it later. On stage, Mindy dances well at first but misses the final lift, collapsing onto her choreographer. The performance is ruined when she falls, and Mindy receives a humiliating score of 4 out of 40. Emily, Marcello, and Alfie try to comfort her, with Alfie offering to share a cab with Mindy while Marcello and Emily head back home together.
That night, Bianca arrives late at the convent and the nun shuts the gates after curfew. Luc is upset, but Bianca flashes the lingerie she is wearing under her jacket from the street, putting on a show for everyone inside the convent. Meanwhile, Emily opens up to Marcello about her family and how she became an overachiever as a child. Marcello appreciates her honesty and tells her that she has a bright future ahead.
The next morning, Emily calls Mindy to apologize for leaving her alone the night before. Mindy reassures Emily that she is fine, hiding the fact that she is in bed with Alfie. Later that morning, Emily's new marketing pitch for Intimissimi is approved. She celebrates by sharing the news with Sylvie. However, Sylvie reveals that Giancarlo has walked off the Muratori shoot. The episode ends with Emily consoling a heartbroken Sylvie.
