In the seventh episode of "Filing for Love," I-na confides in Ki-jun about her past relationship with Jae-yeol, taking us back to 2013 when she came across him on a cliff, intent on taking his own life due to his mother's mental illness. She managed to stop him in the nick of time, and they shared a chance encounter that led to a ride offer and a promise to meet again alive.

Their paths crossed again at Haemu company's dinner, where I-na was a recruit. As they grew closer, she stood by him when his father and colleagues were against him. Their relationship eventually blossomed into romance but ended when Jae-yeol chose to marry someone from his social circle, while I-na chose to continue living her life.
Ki-jun's feelings become more complicated with this revelation. He wonders if this encounter is just Jae-yeol's one-sided feelings or if I-na still has lingering feelings for him. He tells her about the anonymous tip and the secret investigation.
I-na asks about his conclusion, and he admits that he wants to believe it's all in the past but that would be based on his personal feelings. He asks for more time to think it over and reach a level-headed conclusion.
Ki-jun's jealousy and complicated feelings towards Jae-yeol continue during the company's Strategic Planning Joint Workshop. Jae-yeol was only supposed to give an opening remark and leave, but he stayed when he learned about the team's futsal match. Ki-jun subtly provokes Jae-yeol into joining the match as a player for the HR team.
Jae-yeol had arrived relaxed to watch the match, but Ki-jun's subtle provocation gets him riled up. The match becomes a battle between Ki-jun and Jae-yeol, so intense that they start deliberately hurting each other. Ki-jun refuses to back down, forcing I-na to trip him to end the match with Jae-yeol's victory.
After the match, Jae-yeol confronts Ki-jun, and their contest continues. He claims that he and I-na go way back, and tripping Ki-jun meant that she would always take his side. Ki-jun refuses to retreat, firing back with a question of whether Jae-yeol is trying to hide something from him.
On the way out, Jae-yeol suddenly remembers that I-na had told him that she is living with a man. He remembers dropping her off and seeing her run to Ki-jun. He asks if the man she is living with is Ki-jun.
Later, I-na checks up on Ki-jun and gives him medicine for his leg. She warns him to know his limits and boundaries, explaining that she tripped him because he was jeopardizing his career. The HR team would have sought revenge against Jae-yeol even if he didn't pursue it.
In that moment, Ki-jun realizes that I-na didn't trip him to side with Jae-yeol; she was worried about him. He tells her that he has concluded that they are in different emotional places and insists their relationship can work, but he won't force it. He gives her time to sort out her feelings and promises to wait as long as it takes.
Suddenly, the workshop erupts into chaos when Ms. Song reports that she was being filmed in the shower. Earlier, during Jaeyeol's opening speech in the hall, a hidden camera was discovered beneath the seats.
The audit team and HR inspected employees' mobile phones, but at first, there was no clear evidence. Ki-jun then sensed something strange about Ah Seung-woo's cigarette pack.
I-na reads his intentions when he refuses to give it back, and Seung-woo almost becomes violent trying to get it back. They find a hidden miniature camera inside the cigarette pack. He has been spying on women from the office to the cafeteria to the subway. He even installed a camera under employees' desks.
Seung-woo tries to demand a settlement, claiming the need to protect the company's image. I-na and Ki-jun respond by exposing his actions to make an example of him.
Back at the office, Jae-yeol begins to feel troubled by the relationship between I-na and Ki-jun. He even chooses to eat at the cafeteria with them and tries to create a rift, mentioning that Ki-jun and I-na stay together. However, his plan backfires since I-na already knows about it.
Meanwhile, Sung-yeol becomes close to Doo-gi, who is now responsible for auditing the pharmaceutical subsidiary. He shows interest in knowing who was previously in charge of the audits, which leaves Doo-gi curious.
Meanwhile, Ki-jun chooses to leave the table, and I-na joins when Jae-yeol tries to stop him with an executive card. They buy some sandwiches outside and get into an argument about the ending of a children's book, The Little Prince.
They place a wager on a penalty, and after a visit to a bookstore, Ki-jun emerges victorious. As his penalty, he compels I-na to return to work wearing a bunny hair clip, much to everyone's surprise.
I-na receives a call from the art class director. She believes that I-na should stop attending the classes as she no longer needs the escape. She appears happier and laughs more often.
The art director inquires about the person she is seeing. I-na shares her hesitation since they work together. The art director encourages her to give the person a chance, as she might find new joy.
At the office, I-na confronts Jae-yeol for using her during lunch. She assures him that Ki-jun is a great person and that he will not find anything against him.
The next day, Ki-jun arrives at the office and receives confusing news. He has been transferred to the United States.
At the same time, Seung-woo desperately reaches out to the audit team. His wife is divorcing him and wants sole custody of their son.
Upon learning about the transfer, I-na confronts Jae-yeol. She points out that he made the decision without consulting her, claiming that he had ulterior motives. Jae-yeol admits there were many choices he could have made, but he chose the most courteous one. He challenges her, saying she might be the one holding Ki-jun's career back. To make his point clear, he reminds her that she sort of demoted Ki-jun for no good reason.
After Seung-woo learns about Ki-jun's promotion and transfer to the United States, he attacks him at the office with a knife. When I-na learns about the attack, she turns pale. Jae-yeol offers to drive her to the hospital. At the end of the episode, Ki-jun's fate is uncertain. She rushes to him in panic. She even chooses to run to the hospital when she is stalled by traffic.
